Whatcha watching?

Disney +. Got a deal and jumped on it coz I heard it had the rest of Reservation Dogs on it. Not in this country tho. Imagine my disappointment when I opened up the app and found wall to wall kids shows. Starting to find stuff. Shogun and Say Nothing got the moral dilemmas that entertain grown folk. A Thousand Blows ain't exquisitely scripted. But the story is strong and Mary Queen of Elephants can act. Loving the Banner of Heaven. Very little to criticise. Got a few more lined up. Think I'll get my money's worth.

So disappointing that none of the streaming services have Reservation Dogs where I am as well. I know one could use a VPN but still... Saw the first season and a half when in the US. Banner of Heaven was great IMO and, as this is a bass forum, have to mention that the music is by Jeff Ament.

Apparently it's on a spin-off service from a cable network here. Setting myself a rule to cycle through the providers. I waited this long... RDs looks a lot like Mr Waititi's breakout movie in NZ. Didn't notice the BOH music itself so much as how effectively it's used. Joins different scenes together really well. Flashbacks feel contemporary in a movie about people wanting to live in the past.

Netflix doesn't have a great batting average but with great volume comes great homers and great stinkers:

"Bad Thoughts," the Tom Segura sketch show rocks. Watch it.

"Squid Games" will hopefully fund other cool stuff like "Bad Thoughts" because that poopie shaging sucks ass.

EDIT: Oh. And a 17min sketch show shouldn't have better character arcs but it does buy a country kilometer.

This is the most vane vanity project I've ever seen. He apparently got thirty million for it. I'm almost certain it was written by AI. The story is bad and the dialogue is bad and he's bad in it. I guess the racing footage is good if you're into that kind of thing. Look at the poster. You can barely tell what it's called. It just looks like an advertisement for Brad Pitt. This movie was awful.

I recently finished the last three novels in The Expanse series. I'm doing a rewatch of the TV series. Damn, I wish someone would pick this up and finish out the story.
Would be nice, but I don't see it happening. Still my all-time favorite sci-fi tv show. I think I've watched the whole series three times now?

Well, that is the Formula One logo plastered across the upper part, so yeah, no way to tell.

Trudged through the final episodes of Squid Games. Didn't really care for it. I liked the first season but didn't like where they went with it at the end. I'll say no more since I'm sure there are folks that haven't finished it up.

Seems like the science in speculative Sci Fi has fallen out of favour. Either the audience or studio execs (or both) are only good with the magical thinking of "universes".

Or maybe that's just me after too much scrolling through the Disney+ homepage. Kind of enjoying Paradise in a let's not tax the thinking gear kinda way
