Been watching Widow's Bay and all the characters are so well played, especially Mathew Rhys.

Thanks. I'm in the trailer briefly. More substantially in the film itself. Obviously arthouse and not for every taste but very high level and so great working with talent that good. Same as playing in bands, if fortunate to get in with people of greater talent, it pulls you up.
Your description is spot on. The trailer had me wanting more [exactly the point of a good trailer].

Another Britbox crime show- “Sherwood”. IMDB 7.4. Seven episodes. Onto the second. Very watchable.
Been "watching", i.e. having on in the background as I read, a documentary series - Digging For Britain. Rather enjoying it overall, as I'm also reading about British history (which I've done a LOT of over the past few years). Anyway, it's nice to hear snippets of that, look up for a few minutes, then get back to my book. It's kinda cool that the series really focuses on specific dig sites throughout the years - thus far, most of the episodes are at the same handful of dig sites. Each season they revisit them and recap what has happened in the previous year and what they've found, as well as discussing the current theories regarding the finds and what that means for the big picture of the historical era etc. Pretty neat stuff.
WARNING - YOU MAY WANT TO IGNORE THE REST IF YOU'RE SQUEAMISH
The most interesting-to-me find they've discussed so far has been evidence of what they believe to be an ancient Roman brothel in England. It was in an area with no previously known Roman connection. They discovered it via a horrifying discovery of numerous corpses of infants/fetuses - all approximately the same age - and could not reconcile such a horrific find with any known outbreak of disease or any sort of known ritualized infanticide. They've also found plenty of female paraphernalia in the dig, but relatively little male. So, try as they might to disprove the brothel scenario (which was apparently introduced in jest by one of the archaeologists), it's currently their best theory, and the only one that fits the information that they currently have.

We started "Spider Noir" on Friday. We're really enjoying the stylizations and details. It's very well done. (We chose to watch it in color, BTW.)
Sounds somewhat depressing but also inspiring. I should probably check that out.
Widow's Bay is my favorite new show. Apple keeps hittng them out of the park.
It really is fun, I just wish the episodes were longer. Same problem I had with Murderbot, though I think they're longer than that, thankfully.
