Death of a Unicorn was fun, but didn't go far enough with the violence. If this is similar and better, I'm watching it
I would say this one is less violent actually. Off the top of my head I think there are exactly three drops of blood in the whole thing. Could be wrong but I think they made a point of that.
I just couldn't be arsed with that, despite how much my sister insisted it was great.
Anyway, ended up with 3 months of AppleTV for free, and wound up giving it a spin...
Total binge-watch addiction.
Gary Olman is absolutely superb in that role, and several of the supporting characters really grow on you.
The thing that really made me laugh / nostalgic was all the long forgotten memories flooding back of advertising agencies, theatre management offices, private schools, and civil service department offices I spent so much of my childhood, and early 20's in, in rundown London buildings exactly like that (I can still remember the crooked floors, and musty smell).
First episode better than expected. Dunno if i have the legs for 29 more, but i didn’t expect Luther to be anywhere near as entertaining as i found it to be.
The Slow Horses plots and characters get confusing so binge them to keep it all straight.
Thats been the case with most of these. Its a game of sorts connecting the cast members with other shows we’ve binged.
Take it a series at a time (they're quite short).
Each series is it's own case, though there is some subplot through-line that develops.
Started the Studio on Apple TV today. It's a lot of jokes at Seth Rogen's expense, and they're quite funny.
Watched the tall ships in New York Harbor this morning. It was also one of my favorite things about the Bicentennial 50 years ago.
I recently watched The Librarian trilogy of movies from about 20 years ago. (Maybe I need to watch the series next?) They are, quite literally, made-for-TV Indiana Jones homages. I refrain from using the term "rip-off" because Indiana Jones itself borrows heavily from pulp fiction, and this just borrows heavily from it. Anyway, I thought they were wonderful. Funny, lighthearted, but earnest and enjoyable films. Not too serious, and they know exactly what they are and aren't. Precisely what I was hoping for, as I hadn't seen these since they came out and I remembered very little except enjoying them.

Another one I saw years ago and watched again tonight. It had been so long I forgot some of the details so it was almost like watching for the first time. The random familiarities made it fun to watch, I felt like I knew Ruben (the main character for anyone who hasn't seen it). It's not based on a true story, but I still had this feeling like I was watching a documentary about someone I know.

Finished season 2 of Slow Horses. We binged 4 episodes today. First season was very good. Second season was better than expected if that’s possible.
Waiting on the local idiot who sets off fireworks at 3 in the morning. He did it last night just like he’s done every 4th of July for the last 10 years, right behind the house. He usually does it on the 5th as well. They’re industrial loud, possibly M80’s, he set off 20-25 last night, sent our pets into terror.
I’m ready for him tonight. Put an IQ Air cleaner in the birds room turned up to Max. Last night the little one lost most of his feathers screaming. He was absolutely terrified.
The clown is inside of 50 yards when he does it, within the common courtyard. I figure he’s well over 21, or he wouldn’t be able to buy them. If it’s somehow a kid, I’ll walk away. If not, I’ve got a 7 iron and Im going Tiger Woods on him.
