One of my friends has a teenage son who uses their lathe to turn pens, which he brings to the local "farmer's market" and sells at a booth. He usually comes home with a couple hundred dollars in his pocket each week. Not a bad racket. So I guess people do still buy pens.

That's crazy! But also awesome! My next project will be a lidded "box" with a finial on top. A fellow turner mailed me a chunk of Ash from Kansas, it came out of the Topeka Zoo elephant pen. So yeah, kind of a cool backstory on it, I've got a design in mind and hopefully I can make him proud. I just need to find some time.

Steinberger tuner/bridge is missing one knob and jaw. A friend is making a new knob tomorrow, I made a jaw tonight. I’m refinishing the bridge before using it.

A plug for lefty pivot plate is waxed ready for gelcoat and mold laminating. This will be done tomorrow or Sunday.

Looks identical to my XP-2 bridge. The other thing that goes missing is the washers between knob and bridge. The tuner claw screws on mine have flats machined on the ends to mate with set screws in the knobs. Fiddly system, but it worked! I think Ed Roman wants something like $30 for NOS claws.

They are available around the world for sure. I have a few places I have to ask here in Finland. I doubt there is much functional difference between M3 and M3.5. M3 works fine in ABM and ETS headless bridges. When I order new jaws from Headless USA I'm ordering the M3.5 tap if I can't find it locally.
I'm planning to make bridge blocks with stainless inserts like Schaller-made Steinberger bridges.

That makes sense. Because it knows if it's a business or school.
Just like it knows when it's after 10pm.
Or if you're sitting down in a restaurant.
It only attacks if you're standing up.
I think it might be more dangerous on Wednesdays too.
Sorry, I can only hear "due to covid" so many times before I start to twitch.
More appropriate would be, "due to arbitrary, baseless restrictions."

:D They actually sent me a very polite and apologetic note explaining they were limited in hours and staff numbers and are having difficulty keeping up with demand.
