whats the best bass amp

By that logic, the best bass amp would only be available from a small brewery near Gloucestershire and would come in bottles...

How many of these threads do we need? There is no single best, but there are plenty of opinions.
I tend to like big iron tube amps like these:
Hylight era Hiwatt 400w DR405 or 200w DR201
vintage Ampeg SVT
Sadowski SA200
Sunn 2000S
Sound City B200 Mark 3 era
Laney Nexus 400
Mesa D180
Mesa 400 6x6550 version
Fender 400PS
Reeves Custom 225

but only because i have been through, Fenders, Markbass, Trace Elliot, and Ampeg (although the Ampeg was old battered and needed completely re-wiring)
Im using a Laney R4H through a Laney 4x10 and 4x15 (about 11 years old too). The EQ is great and its so versitile. So many other bands have played through it and sounded great.

It's kind of like asking "What's the best type of food?" Everybody has their own opinion. I have had bad luck with Ampeg but good luck with GK. Whenever I hear a bass player who has the sound that I really like, they are usually playing through Eden or EBS. The best answer I can give you is that the best bass amp is the one that fits your needs, not mine or anybody elses.
The best bass amp? That's easy.
It's the one that has amplification circuitry that runs on electricity, and that circuitry then drives a round speaker (or speakers) contained in a box that generates bass frequencies.
I've seen them for sale in the TB classifieds.
