Yea, in Canada @ $5.50 a pack, 2 packs/day, 365 days per year, that's $4000 CAD (~ $2700 US) per year.
(Or one new F-Bass per year!!)

Reminds me when in university, all my price comparisons were in cases of beer. (i.e. that physics book just cost me 6 cases!)

Bass: J-Bass $600 (paid $300)
'58 Re-issue P-Bass paid $400 slightly used (no idea worth)
FX/Strings/Cables/etc.: $500

Total: $2450 + P-Bass (paid $1850)

My car only cost me $1500. Thats ok though coz i havent even bought my warwick yet.

With everything I currently have it comes to a tad over $7000. Soon to be adding an American Deluxe P bass and a few other things, so it'll be around the $8500 mark in a couple of weeks.

I really hope my wife doesn't happen to stumble across this.

With no restraints (wife, kids, good sense, etc.), I would weigh in at about $11,400.

Eden System $2000 (two floor wedges and amp)
Cirrus 5 $905 (wouldn't sell my existing guitar) until getting MTD USA 5)
Elrick 5 $2200 (swamp ash/bubinga) with jazz Barts and wenge neck
Lakland 55 Series $2,200 (light green with maple neck)
Roscoe Beck 5 $900 (gold)
Zon Fretless 5 $2200 (swamp ash and tone wood top)
MIA P-bass $500 (black with maple neck)
Effects-$500

With this lineup, I think I could cover the spectrum of sounds.

This all would cost as much as my second car, but less to insure.
