You didn't say whether you just meant bass stuff or not. So here goes with the lot! Only rough-ish figures tho, converted to US $:

Legend Jazz Bass (Fender copy) - $200
Aria Pro II Fretless - $550 (very roughly)

Aria Pro II TA-40 Semi-Acoustic Guitar - $550 (again, roughly)
Washburn 12-string Acoustic Guitar - $500 (guess)

Yamaha P-80 Digital Piano - $1100
Rhodes Stage 73 Electric Piano - $1000

Marshall guitar amp - $350
Marshall Bass-State B-65 bass amp - $350

That's comes to about $4600.

The insured value of all my gear is a bit over 10k. That includes 3 basses, an amp head, 1 cabinet and some "stuff". That is, at most, what I'll take on a gig with me. Usually I'll only bring one or two of the basses. With the stuff that I don't bring, you can add a few k more.

I used to feel a bit guilty for having so much $ invested in gear, until I found out my car mechanic spent 7k on a tool box with NO tools. It is the cost of doing business. Music is my business and I need the most appropriate tools for the job - no questions asked.

- $250 Conrad fretless jazz bass - bought in 73
- $350 1978 Fender Precision - bought in 81

Upright Bass - 1990's
- $950 Lidl laminate with fishman p/u

Amp
- $250 Sunn concert bass head 70's
- $400 1-18 BFI cabinet - mid 80's
- $400 1-15 Bag End cabinet - mid 80's

Total paid - $2600
Current value - about $50 - Everything works and sounds good but looks pretty worn

wow... this thread prompted me to make a list and add up all the stuff I own, and it comes to just about $5500... i had no idea that i had that much money tied up in this stuff.

I have a:
Carvin 5 w/ barts
Stingray 5
Cheapo yamaha 4
Pre/poweramp in a rack case

25 watt practice amp
Lessons for the past month.

That's it, plus strings cables, and a tuner... it adds up pretty quick.

if I factor in all the money i've spent on band stuff that i never got back (practice studio rent, recording time), i'd probably be sick.

lol. all my conklin basses (10 7 and 8 string, counting the doubleneck as one) cost me ~ US$33,000 over the past 10 years. now remember, this is with a pretty hefty discount - the list price is probably close to us$50,000.

all my amp gear cost me around us$8,000. approx.

so ~$41,000.

yikes. :eek:

then again, i've kept almost everything i've ever had. the first bass that i have ever sold just went a few weeks ago to gabu. it's the beginning of a trend, i tell you! :D

Hey John, this bass does sound really cool amplified. It may find itself on my soon to be recorded, second demo.

I am thinking of using it for a tune going on it called "Invalid Link Removed". I wrote that one for my wifey. :D

(edit: I forgot about angelfire not allowing remote linking. you can get around that be clicking and holding the link, then drag it to your address bar and drop it in.)

what i play now:
4 basses= $3000

amp/rig= $1200 (includes all misc. gear; cables, rack etc.)

i own our PA system= $1000

plus the gear i've owned and sold/traded= well over $5000.

this is why i still live at home with mom and pop but have a platinum discover card...
i think i need another job to pay for school.

If I consider how much I payed for my basses,it would be
'78 Jazz:2000 euros
'91 Tobias:2200 euros(in 1992)
Laurus fretless:1800 pre-owned(in 1993)
But the prices would be around 3400/3700 euro for a Tobias,and 3000 for a Laurus,now.
I've been very lucky to pay only 2000 for my HOUGE sounding '78 JB
