What's your guitar rig like?

I recently bought my first-ever acoustic guitar and have been working on a rig for it before I revamp my scary guitar synth setup for my 80s Heritage solidbody.

So, this entry level-ish Breedlove myrtlewood concert size acoustic:

Through this pedal:

This 500 watt DIY amp:

And then either my AudioKinesis TC112AF or my recently revamped DIY 8" + horn cab, which was formerly a 6.5"/horn top box that sat on top of one or two 115 cabs:

The 8" driver came from Fishman and is used in the bigger Loudbox amps. It's happy in a small sealed space and sounds great with that 18 Sound/ BMS horn/compression driver combination. Also currently building a new delay/chorus pedal as a beta tester for Cabintech's new "digital BBD" chip, which I really like a lot so far. The idea is to emulate old school analog delays, but with far less noise and the ability to work with quick and easy analog control circuits.

Couple Gibsons, a Danno and an old highly modified Carlo Robelli jazz box.

Silent recording rig: Revivaldrive>Cab Zeus mono>Neve preamp>Apogee Quartet>Logic. Plus a handful of pedals.

Jomesing for an Orange AD200 (bass amp) though I have absolutely no justification for owning one.

My guitar amp is a Tiny Terror into an Orange 1x12. My main guitar is an Epiphone LP 100 with an X2N knockoff in the bridge, I also have an LTD EC-1000 but apparently I hate jumbo frets or need higher gauge strings because I can't play it without it being out of tune.

I use a Line6 Variax 500, whatever Zoom multiFX (mostly MS-50G or G1Xon) and a Zoom Fire 36+ amp. Used to have a Roland Cube 60. I ended up giving it to a guitarist nephew. The Fire 36+, even tho' half the power (and the money), sounds warmer/fuller and I prefer the built in amp sims to the Cube 60's. The Variax guitar is a great tool. My gig (and inclination) is mostly bass, but I need to have a variety of guitar sounds around, mostly to demo. I just don't want to also collect guitars.

I think I took up bass to get away from guitar. Anything I have for guitar is intended for other people, and it is VERY basic. I have an offshore Tele copy that almost nobody uses and a Roland Cube amp, to facilitate rehearsals. The Cube actually sounds pretty good.

I am a big fan of the Cube, they sound great!

When I lived in Moscow (2000-2012) I had dozens and dozens of different electric guitars (mostly custom shop prototypes) - but for a stage rig I always used to run them through my trusty VOX Tonelab SEs (floorboard edition). Had a small Mesa combo at home but never gigged with it. I still have a Tonelab but in recent years (back here in Canada) I've been gigging bass again, and only play guitars on occasional studio recordings, always thru a Line6 modeler. I do have a little vintage magnatone tube combo waiting to get dusted off for recording one of these days. But I'm sold on modeling amps and in-ears for gigging; never going back to stage amps!

Just sold a pile of Jackson super-strats, now down to just a custom artwork strat strung with flatwounds, a line6 variax, a custom hybrid-hollow-solidbody, and what will be a very nice Warmoth 7/8th superstrat - when I can get around to assembling it! (Incidentally, I also have what will be an awesome Warmoth shortscale bass - which has been aging nicely in the boxes for five years now - I really need to set up a workbench here...)

That 7/8 guitar sounds fun! Love how shorter scale guitars sound!

That would be, technically, my Sound City 120, with 6 EL34’s, but it depends on what cab it’s going into(I’m restoring a SC 4x12 that had destroyed Fanes, will probably replace with Celestion or Warehouse)…

…but then, while missing the chunk factor, my ‘66 Vox AC-30 is quite capable of pissing off the neighbors as well. There’s also a couple of Traynor YBA Bassmaster Mark II’s pressed into guitar service, then a 60 watt Sunn Sceptre with the matching upright staggered 4-12 cab(Warehouse drivers), great rig for surf-y cleans with the Rev/Trem and dual 6550 power tubes.

Nice! That will sure flap some pants!!

my guitar rig is a solid-state Orange combo, I somehow prefer it's clean channel over other amps I've played

I own a Gretsch semi acoustic and that's it, no more guitars for me. my wife owns a Strat and an acoustic tho, but I have a hard time playing 9s that she prefers.

I rejoined an old band and play a mix of guitar and trumpet. See if you can find my amp...

And then there’s the mandolins. Kentucky, Breedlove, and Northfield. I get more gigs on mandolin than anything else. For percussion, I’ve got three cajons, a set of congas, and a djembe.

I have a Squier Tele, a Squier Strat, an Epi Les Paul, a Fender acoustic and a hollow body jazz semi acoustic that I can’t even remember the make of. I completely fail at playing them all and I fail to do so through a Marshall DSL40 tube combo and a Zoom multi FX pedal.

I'll be working up a demo or two as soon as the new delay widget is a bit more developed. I have a DIY tube amp on the way too, and might make the 8" cab powered eventually. I use to gig doubling on electric guitar pretty regularly twenty years or so ago, and often at least had someone else's acoustic kicking around wherever I lived over the years. But I'm presently porting away from bass and going all in on guitar and also this mutant:

Warmoth 7/8 is a bit misleading... I suspect that the body is scaled down 7/8 (0.825) but on the business end it's actually 47/50 (0.941) using 24" as the scale length (Mustang scale length!) But it's a great way to have a 24-fret 'strat' in a shorter scale
