Whats your next Bass ?

Just bought this bad mama jamma last week so I'm not really thinking about buying another bass at the moment (I'm also still in the process of finishing a parts build!).

I can't believe how much I love this bass! I'm actually giddy about it! I haven't felt this way about a new bass in a long time.

At some point, I'd like to have a P/J so I can put flats on it, (I was planning on building one from parts before I fell in love with the Classic IV). I really dig the various tones of my other basses with rounds on them too much and would feel like I'd be making a sacrifice if I put flats on any of them. But for now, I'm going to continue to enjoy my honeymoon with the T-Bird!

I'm a fender guy. Always have been. 97% of the basses I've owned were fenders or fender clones. The others were rickenbackers. They just work for me. That being said, I've really been wanting a Stingray and that will probably be my next bass. Though it's not a fender by name, it really is a fender by design haha

Nice. You don't see many 6 string P basses, but that is my next bass as well. A Kiesel/Carvin Roy Vogt Signature Vanquish 6. A dual P, actually.

I have a Peavey TL-Six now, which is also a dual P 6 string. The P in the bridge position gives a surprisingly good "bridge pickup" tone. I think it works just fine for a tone that one might normally think of using a J on the bridge pickup for. The RV Sig will (I expect) give me more of the same, but with electronics that are a bit more modern. Plus, a neck that is oil-finished on the back, which I prefer. And is a bolt-on, which I also prefer.

Glad you like it. I have some P/J 4 string basses and really like them. Not exactly sure when Nordstrand started building a 6 string P. I might have potentially ordered my P/J 4 string basses as a 6 string if I knew that were an option. I've seen a few double P basses, but have never played one. Not sure if I have heard them blended or a P at the bridge.

Kiesel/Carvin are doing a lot of really unique things these days. I probably would have owned a few if they released a P pickup a while back or offered a locking nut on guitars with a locking trem. They held out on those things for the longest time.

Well, I have a G&L MJ-4 on the way. But, if you are talking about basses that have not been purchased yet, it would be a Thumb NT4 with a Wenge neck, which I would tune to B. But, they are very hard to find in a lefty. I am in no hurry, though. My Thumb NT4 with an Ovangkol neck is a fantastic bass.

If I ever get one, I will do a YouTube video comparing the two, as nobody else has done one yet.

At some point I may get a Rick 4003SW.

I recently purchased a Fender American Elite Jazz V. Therefore, I am not in the market for a new bass at this present time. However, in the not too distant future, I am highly considering the following two options for my next bass purchase:
  • Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5 (HH or HS)
  • Yamaha BBNE2 Nathan East Signature Bass (Black)
Either bass will add something different to my small collection. It is just a matter of deciding which bass over the next several months.

I'm waiting on a Cataldo 12er, a Wendler Electrocoustic 5er fretless, and an Emerald Balor fretless 5, expected in that order. After that, probably a Maruszcszyk fretless headless Frog Omega 5er in blue quilt with Delanos. Yummm.

I've been a Lakland fan for a long time. I have a 55-02/fretted (honeyburst). I would love to add a 55-94/fretted, but I will likely never buy such an expensive bass anytime this year. I will likely buy another Lakland 55-02 (fretless) within the next 6-8 months.

ive been enjoying my warwick thumb NT6 I got earlier this year. Can't really see buying anything super expensive to replace it as my number one. But I wouldn't mind picking up a rare Warwick for the right deal. I'm on my third thumb bass and I've also owned a couple corvettes so I'm kind of interested in getting something different that compliments my thumb bass by having a different vibe like maybe the Adam Clayton signature which is more like warwicks take on a p bass

I could also see getting another fretless, maybe a dark lord, infinity, or dolphin. I'm open to any of the above. Just keeping an eye out for the right deal.
