I would love a high end bass, but I also want an Aston Martin...

I am torn between a used MiM jazz my friend owns, a SUB Ray4, or a new Ibanez SR300 like my friend with the jazz just bought.

Sooooo many more expenses before another bass, but eventually it'll be one of the following 5ers:

Dingwall of some kind
Fretless p bass
Hollowbody gretch style
Yamaha trbx or similar.

Hopefully this will be as good a year as im hoping.

Willcox Saber VL5 Fretless or a Spector SpectorCore 5 Fretless.

Tried and liked both - for different reasons. All that still needs to be decided is whether I'm going to spend approximately $1000 or $1700 when it comes time to buy.

Right now the herd consists of:
1 Squier VM Jag
1 Squier VM J
1 Blue Rock J
2 Washburn XB-500

Most likely for the next acquisitions:
Either the Ibanez Talman 600 or the Washburn Sonamaster SB1

Think someone is a cheap bass aficionado?

Reactions: Malak the Mad
Upton Bohemian Hybrid upright with the upgraded top. While there are several BGs (Pedulla Buzz first and foremost) that I'm hankering for, a new upright is what I'm really after.

right now I'm working on building my peavey fury to suit my tastes. as it sits its red/maple with chromes. adding black gotoh tuners, black high mass bridge tbd, black/red/black pg, probably going with spb2 hot pups over QPs for added mids. whole thing should run me about tree fiddy.
After that probably an sr500 in the new for '16 burst finish. I always hated the poop brown mahogany finish.

Posted this in the tax refund bass thread, but this:

RS Guitarworks Contour '59 custom P with a 7.5 radius neck, clay dots, alder, maple/rosewood, 1 5/8" width neck at the nut, bone nut, custom Fralin P pickup, brown tort pickguard, "under the bed" aging, nitro finish, aged nickel hardware, hipshot featherweight tuners, in seafoam green. The build is in process.

I've found it and I'm in the process of working out a deal with its owner. If successful I will be over the moon as this bass holds special sentimental value to me. I'll be sure to post some pics and the story.
