But I do have to say, you guys are definitely calling me out with the observation that you can spill all the beer you want on that carpet, and just walk away...

I say keep the rug and simply accessorize.

A lava lamp would do wonders. It would help tie everything together. Perhaps a velvet, 3D poster of a tiger.

My grandpa has that exact carpet in his house and I love seeing the occasional Tom gear shot because it always reminds me of his house. So the carpet got my vote.

That hardwood is, er, hot though.

Hmm. The carpet is visually interesting, and definitely has some alure for the sexual aspect of things, but you can't slide on carpet in your sock feet.

I'm normally a wood kind of guy, but that's a hell of a carpet. I think the bass's finish kind of clashes though. Wood with wood is fine, but wood with carpet is kind of lame. Might I recommend a carpeted bass?
