That's the point. I don't care if you don't give them any money. I paid them for cables...once. If it makes you feel good to tag along with the rest of the bashing, that's fine. Do you have any of your own personal reasons why you don't give the big, lying corporate giant that is Monster your money or are you going to stick with the arbitrary, stock reasons you gave me? Try not to take it so seriously...they're cables.

While I'm happy not to put money in the hands of raging dishonest jerks like the head of Monster, my reasons for not using them are way simpler...they're expensive and aren't any better than other much cheaper cables. Don't care about a lifetime warranty...I'll lose them long before I'll break them...but if I did, there are other companies that offer it.

I'm not tagging along with anyone; my reasons are my own. My reasons are not stock or arbitrary. I don't give a flip what cables you use. You asked for logical reasons why I don't use Monster products and you got them. Believe them or not, it's no skin off my nose, but I will continue to voice my opinion about Monster whenever it comes up. In my opinion, the cables are mediocre and overpriced and WAY overhyped, and the company's predatory business practices suck.

Perhaps my points seem stock and tagalong to you because so many people feel the same way about them. Perhaps there is good reason for that.

I have the 20' Monster Bass cable and while it seems to do a fine job isolating the bass signal and keeping the tone pure, I would not buy another is this one was lost. It's too ridged, too heavy and is by FAR the most knot-prone cable I've ever used. A real hassle on stage!

I have taken audio engineering. With testing/dismantling/re-soldering 20 different kinds of cables.... and if anyone here thinks they can tell the diff (audibly) between MC and PW or any "higher" end cable?.....I have some dry land in Florida for you to buy.

Is there such thing as a cable nOOb?....

LMAO...then your "buddy" had adjusted something when you werent looking to change the sound.

As others have already stated on here...(and probably with lots of experience and or schooling). You/me or anyone else is not going to be able to tell a difference with the human ear.....there is such a MINUTE difference on a Impedance Analyzer, there is no way

You do know that there is no such thing as a "bass specific" cable right ?

What you call "doing a fine job isolating the bass signal", others call a defective cable.

I love cable conversations... such passion... such drama. :hiding:
Personally I'm a DIY cable guy, but I did want to contribute to the Monster discussion, there's a great read online about Monster and Jimmy Iovine/Dr.Dre and their business dealings for the Beats brand.
Really interesting glimpse into the company and the two guys who run it. My personal opinions about marketing-driven audio companies like Monster and Bose aside, Noel Lee is a very interesting dude.
