Which phrase annoys you the most?

Something that comes up a lot in music / arts education: the word ‘pedagogy’. It drives me insane. It’s a deeply pretentious word for people who think the word ‘teaching’ isn’t good enough. Whenever I hear it I want to vomit aggressively.

Two more. I don’t know why but when folks say “KK” it irritates me to no end.

Also when really presumptuous people say “Please and thank you!”. I think it’s incredibly rude.

Not necessarily annoying, but I’ve reminded myself to not to use the term “gig,” but rather use show or performance for non-musician types.

If we're expanding this to non-bass related phrases, I'll nominate any phrase that starts with "hashtag" as in "#carrots". The real world does not talk like we're all on twitter.

(Also, # is not a "hashtag", it's a number sign. Get off my lawn.)

You misunderstand. When people say "hashtag", they are referring to the word with the "number sign" in front of it, not the symbol itself. Millennials and Zoomers may refer to it as a "hashtag symbol" or "hashtag sign". True men call it a pound or a pound sign.

I agree with the "So...". I know a guy who started doing that a few years ago. I haven't seen him in a while.
