Who finds black basses boring?

You, sir, have clearly not met my bass or my hamster.

One has a mirrored pickguard and growls like a beast. The other runs around like crazy in her ball and occasionally swings acoss the bars at the top of her cage. I'll let you work out which is the bass and which is the hamster.

Actually, plain black or black with white pickguard does nothing for me. But neither my bass nor my black/tort guitar are boring.

I don't find them boring but when it came time to refinish my '77 T Bird it didn't come back in black.

Maybe you do it purely for the music and aesthetics aren't as important, and that's fine, I promise I won't criticize your philosophy. Just realize that visual considerations do matter to others.

In sunlight it changes to a Violet, I can't seem to get a good shot tho - Of course some sunlight would help too.... ;)

Some black basses look great. Why is everyone so hung up what other people think while at the same time criticizing others? We all have our own tastes and preferences. Some people don't like the looks of sunburst basses. There are very few basses that I find boring. I play what I like, you play what you like.
Apparently, Elvis preferred white basses.

The OP asked for opinions.

I have, and love sunburst- a couple said they hated them and/or found them boring. I wasn’t the least bit offended, because they were just expressing their opinions.

It’s all good. :)

I love the look of my Jaguar in Black w/tort, however, I seem to not be interested in black basses, and when I see a nice "deal" thats black, I usually start thinking about what colour I would paint it! The strange thing is that I like black for almost everything else.

THAT is beautiful.

I love black basses, but not all "stealthed" out..........
Gotta have chrome, gotta have some contrast. I especially love creme colored pups in a black bass.

In my stable, 5 are black, the rest are varied.....natural, blue, sunburst, purple, CRACKLE, etc.............

Sorry, but I wish all of mine were black!

Normally, I'm not into black basses, but I do like my Aerodyne Jazz. I think the smoky chrome hardware and the ivory colored binding make all the difference.
