Who has cool neighbors?

Here’s a video taken last week, three doors down from my house. It’s pretty much self-explanatory.

When my neighbors ask me what I do, I tell them I play in a stinky little bar band, and that we are Big In Vernon CT. Well, we were.

Most of my neighbors'houses are a couple hundred yards away. But the closest ones are amazing! Just great people. Couldn't be happier. My kids call them Uncle Ant (Anthony) and Aunt Lori. They're like family. I'm not moving until they do.

I live in an apartment top floor on the right two twins early 20s, when they moved in they banged on the wall about are music, they are female so my wife went round and explained we don’t live in a dorm no problems since.
The left side we have really nice people young techies, however prior to them we had a dude who sold weed, and was a total snugglemuffin, our clothes stank of weed, I am ok with having a smoke but this was all day all night starting at 7 am luckily they were really bad at computer games

The folks who live around me are the opposite of cool, in fact they were sitting outside this evening & complaining about how HOT it was. I wanted to ask them why they don't just go the Hell indoors if it's so damn hot outside, but I will just assume they've already had a heat-stroke or something

My city neighbors are cool but we are on a dirt road with 1 1/2 acres each. It's actually on the edge of the city. There are loud parties all over on the week ends.

The forest town where I am retiring to only has one full time neighbor, the rest are weekenders. We have one very loud party house a few lots away on the hill behind us, they have a real eclectic taste of music. Old rock, country and Mexican music blasts night and day when they are there.

I live in a West-Indian neighborhood. They are the best. Everyone loves music, everyone has parties with loud music in their yards, and nobody is bothered by us practicing, rehearsing or recording in the basement.

Last week I recorded some acoustic guitar parts where the neighbor's garden party leaked into my condenser mikes. It's super funny.

Not really; further from the truth actually. My neighbors are great as well as my neighborhood.

I got one neighbor that plays piano and has no issue with loud music. The other neighbor has an incredible 5000 watt home theater system with 6ft tall mains. He is much louder than me but has a good tast in music so I can't complain

No one called the cops when I had this going. I mean I guess it was the middle of the day and it wasn’t THAT loud. Although I had that 6 watt head maxed out.

No complaints! I've got great neighbors. The only sore spot is some guy the next street over who occasionally lights off a firework or two (or three) around 10:30 at night. It's not that often, but it's like "really?"

Mine suck! Last time I had a jam session (had an annual summer jam every year for 10 years straight), I had the police called on me. No more jams!

We are in a rural area and all of our immediate neighbors are pretty cool people.

One is a retired AF test pilot who had a post AF career as an airline pilot and now spends his time in retirement as a bass tournament fisherman.

Across the road is a retired couple who grow grapes and make their own wine and jams. The guy used to host a weekly acoustic jam session but after a while I was the only one who showed up so he eventually stopping doing it.

A guy down the road approx 1/4 mile has, (along with is cows and horses and donkeys), some camels and a couple of elephants on his property. It's kinda cool to hear the elephants calling out when we're sitting on our back porch in the evenings.

Then there's another rancher in the opposite direction who raises American Bison. He has a pretty good herd going now. They're such majestic animals and I really enjoy just watching them graze when they're roaming within eyesight of our place.

Further down the road, about a mile from us is a small ranch that operates a Rodeo on Saturday nights during the Spring and Fall. They have a mariachi band that plays between the events and we can hear the music drifting on the wind when we sit outside on those nights.

All in all, we're pretty happy out here in the sticks.

Lucky You! I live in a tight suburban Tract. Luckily my neighbors are pretty cool.
One late night before a gig I had to learn a song (Spoonman- Soundgarden) the band didnt get to rehearse much before, we muscled through it but for most part it sounded good, but there's sort of a bass solo/riff in the middle I didnt have quite down. the drummer suggested, "You just gotta play it over & over +1000x!" Okay.
I think it wasa LaaaATE tuesday night and I was testing out a new amp head & dialing in my tone for this gig. I was practicing the entire song i think about 5x. I kept turning up the stereo To hear the subtleties in the song! it was a hot summer night so i had my window WIDE open! I had most of the song down, but now I needed to buckle down & go through the solo/riff "over & over". I think I finally got it down after about almost 10x! I was getting tired, so i decided to take a break, & have a smoke then come back I see if i could go over the song without making a mistake. So I stepped out to the backyard and mosy to the side of my house, where my bedroom is and I see my neighbor peaking over the wall,He's calling my name! He says "can you please turn it down a little, I have to get up early tomorrow" I apologized profusely,trying not prolong or over explain my situation, b/c it was late( after 12 am) I could hear the buzz of my stereo through the window& the the slight Hiss of my Amp! I was shocked! I never practice loud, so I rationalize It must be like when you're in the car & keep turning up the stereo& pretty soon your blasting the windows out! I finished my smoke & went back inside. curious about my settings! the stereo was up to about 6 which is pretty high for it. My amp was almost 7/~8! surprised I rarely get it above 3 most nights! I closed the window half way,& quickly turned down the amp to 2 1/2 & shut off the stereo! I was embarassed! I had been soo inconsiderarte! Poor guy had to listen to chris cornell screaming "Spoonman!"into the night for over an hour! Ugh, I sheepishly practiced for another hour at an almost inaudible volume.
I finally got it down! and the gig was a huge sucess! I even got a high five from our super critical Drummer! all at the expense of my super tolerant neighbor! soon after I invested in a head phone setup & I always double check my settings! I never talked to him about again, he moved out a couple of months later, I think because of the rundown conditions not my late night practices. I think I wouldve heard or made aware of any complaints!
Im very happy he didnt call the cops! I always wonder how long he was outside trying to get my attention!

You guys should try living in England! You can't swing a cat without hitting a neighbour.

Fortunately, mine don't seem to care. But I don't hold band practices here and am conscious of the noise level of my bass. I've no problems with playing louder music (from inside) into my garden when they start to get on my nerves.
