Who is Totally, Completely Happy with their Current Rig.....

As someone else said, forever is a long long time, but I'm happy with my gear. No lust for other basses, and no need to replace amps or cabs. If I wind up in a situation where my Shuttle 6.2 isn't loud enough with my LDS 15/6, I may swap it out for a 9.2, but I don't anticipate that need.

I am (currently). That doesn't mean I am not working on a second. My main player rig is a Mesa Walkabout Scout 15" with matching extension cab in (custom from what I gather) wine lizard tolex and tan grills. It does everything I ask it to and sounds pretty amazing. That being said, I'm working on an Ampeg V4 setup with an old B40 cab (new drivers should be here in the morning). But that doesn't mean I am unhappy with the Mesa in the least. I love that rig. Looks good. Sounds good.

I'm completely happy with my current setup...an Alembic F-1x into a parametric EQ into a Stewart World 2.1 driving a pair of Fearful 15/6/1s.

With my effects rig patched into the front end, this thing is literally a tonal Swiss Army knife.

I have a GK 1001RB-II head, a GK MB500 head, 2 Dr. Bass RX112 Neo cabinets, a Bergantino AE410 cabinet, and a GK MB150S combo and I'm VERY happy with what I have. Even though forever is a LONG time, this combination should enable me to mix and match to suit any situation I might ever find myself in for the rest of my life.

The biggest obstacle to that gear lasting me forever? Why, Talkbass, of course!

By all rights I should never need to acquire another bass amp. But, I have said that before. I love my power and tone options with this line up:
1966 Ampeg SB-12
1969 Ampeg B-15n
1968 Fender Bassman 100 w/ Showman cab with 1x15 JBL
2006 Ampeg SVT VR (USA) w/ SVT 410HLF and SVT Ampeg 810 AV (I use one cab at a time depending on the room)
199X SWR Basic 350 Red
And I have 2 Ampeg B100R (Rocket Bass), one is left at the rehearsal space.

I've been very satisfied with my current set up over all. Yr 2000 USA Peavey Millennium 5plus (purchased new late 2000) > Promethean P500H (purchased barely used late '09 right hear on TB) > Genz Benz NeoX 212T (1st one purchased new around '01 sold in '05, 2nd purchased new in '06 - both were/are rat fur models).

But I will admit to being a bit curious about the Faital loaded GB NX2 or a Faital loaded Dually. I've heard rumor that the Faital drivers are a little "smoother" than their Eminence counter parts.

So I guess i would fall into the Almost No Gas category.

I've never been happier with an amp than I am now with my Aguilar TH350 along with my two Traynor TC112 cabs. I say this as someone who was extremely happy with the SWR amps I had for the 20 years previous, especially my Redhead(s), which I had considered my amp for life.

Thanks Dave! I finished the baffles using the same dye/clearcoat technique I use on my custom basses. Black goes on first, then gets sanded back, then red - it really makes the wood grain pop. In person you can really make out some nice patterns in the birch.

I am. Ampeg V4-b with custom LDS 2/15. Big enough for most gigs I play but when necessary I also have an SVT-CL and 810. I play mostly vintage style music so the vintage tone just appeals to me despite dealing with the shortcomings of antiquated technology.

Ain't it the truth! I have to laugh at myself for the number of times I thought that I was done changing my bass gear.

I'm never not happy with my setup; I just like trying out new ideas. It's not so much G.A.S. or need, just curiosity coupled with evolving perceptions of what's economically viable, versatile in tone, and easy to schlep.

I have thought I was done, but the target is always moving. Now I think if it's really loud, doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and fits in the trunk of my car, it's a good bet I might have it someday—especially if it's an amazing deal.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
