This guy either really does not know what he really has here, or is good at faking it. Question is which is it? Does this bass look legit to the TB community?

Looks like a refinish from the photo's, but it's hard to tell. In the close-up photo of the headstock, it almost looks like the fingerboard has been painted too? Doesn't look like maple, it looks white like the rest of the bass but you can only see a tiny bit of it. I don't recall ever seeing a Ric with a maple fretboard, but I'm not a big Ric guy.

Could be a fake, but possibly a classic find, they do happen. If it's legit, what a score!

yeah looks like the fingerboard is painted white.

Ok. So I was just basically looking to people here for feedback on this bass and the authentication (and/or fakeness) of it because I am not a Ric person. I have my Fender Precisions I love and play, however if this is indeed worth the investment I would possibly pick it up for the price because I have heard a lot of great things about real Ric basses.
