Who's your FAVORITE Bass player?

Geddy lee was my first, later I really like les claypool and cliff burton, then I really got into jaco, now I don't even know... I'd say Jeff Maccora my teacher, he inspires me, schools me, and builds me at a low rate once a week. Thanks Jeff.
You want chicks? Be a singer or guitarist. When I picked up a bass for my first band, our rhythm guitarist's dad called me "a super bass player." Everyone else always asked, "Why play bass? Can't hack the guitar?"
Having said that, my three all-time favorite players are Sadus bassist Steve DiGiorgio (he's so versatile as a fretless player), Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex Webster (his work with Ron Jarzombek and Blotted Science speaks for itself, IMO), and Jaco Pastorius (nothing else needs to be said about the man. Just speaking his name says it all).

Geddy Lee mesmorized me at an early age...it was his tone more than anything.
At the present: Robert T. Metallica. (for awsome right-hand technique)
JPJ Zeppelin. (improv for rock ability is the best)
Chris Squire (greatest prog picker)
John Myung (greatest prog fingerstyle)
Duff M. (awesome hard rock lines)
Martin Mendez (for the Br00tz)
Flea (for funky slapping)
Jaco (for jazz)
With so many different styles available; I can't pick just one.

I already posted early in this thread, but I have been listening to Lanice Morrison lately. YouTube - Michael McDonald - Sweet Freedom - SoundStage 2003 and YouTube - Michael McDonald - I Keep Forgettin' - Soundstage 2003 not flashy, but in the pocket, FER SHUR!
the man who caused me to pick up the bass- steve harris single handedly. 27 years later, i don`t really feel the same way. he is great at what he does, but with limited tools at his disposal, he often relegates himself to E pentatonic with a gallop. love him though...
these days i love bassists who can be busy, but fly under the radar because they lock in the pocket so well. the one guy who really shines consistently at this is rex brown. he stays way low but is always moving and always tasteful. unobtrusive and unconcious. robert kearns from Cry of Love was like this too; sparse, but picked his moments and did every note right.
any bassist that sings is to be respected as well; geddy obviously.
