Who's your FAVORITE Bass player?

He is so freaking awesome

Geddy Lee. I once was talking to someone who told me "Now that I've learned YYZ, I don't think Geddy is really that good anymore." Had I thought about it at the time, I would have said "Yeah, you've learned the studio version, now go out and play a recent live version, and then try to tell me he isn't good." Old songs receive a new kick from him in terms of the bass playing when he plays them now in comparison to their studio counterparts (no pun intended.) It's awesome!

He's the man who made me pick up the instrument.

I'm all over the place with this one. It can change almost day to day. Though I'd have say my tops are...

Fieldy-I like his energy on stage
Justin Chancellor-unique sound
Geddy- like I have to elaborate
Im gonna quote myself here...

I named Justin Chancellor as one of my favorites. Ironically I never learned any of his stuff but just appreciated his tone and lines. I have since learned a few of his songs. I am amazed at the simplicity of his riffs. Nothing very technical or complicated. He just has a great ear for the feel of the song.

Even though his stuff is pretty basic I just became more of a fan because of the above reasons.

Nice Yamaha?

I have yet to catch them live. But Mastodon is my favorite metal band. I would venture to say they're the best metal band of the last decade.

I think that's a Fender actually, a Prophecy II if memory serves.

I haven't seen them live yet either, cannot wait until the day I finally can. I would easily say they're the best metal band of the past decade and I'd venture to put Crack The Skye up as one of the greatest metal albums ever made.
