Guy Pratt is a BEAST... monster player... very tasteful. His book is great, too. 
Not sure how far one has to go in this thread (TL/DR) for Jimmy Johnson to be mentioned. But it's too far.
Andy Rourke of The Smiths has got to be one of the most underrated bassists. Definitely one of my personal top favorites, the other ones must be Tim Commerford who was my main inspiration to take up the instrument at all, and then Geddy Lee who's just simply a perennial favorite. Honorable mention also to Janne Borgh of the Swedish punk band Strindbergs. There are many other greats, but these are the first that come to my mind when asked to list my favorites.
She's awesome! I follow her on here, but she hasn't been on for years. Maybe if I message her she might come back

Leland Skylar, Paul McCartney, Paul Chambers, Jaco, Stanley, Chris Squire. There's elements from all of them in everything I play....whether I know it at the time or not.
John Deacon. Wrote some of the most iconic basslines in Rock N Roll, knew how to sit in the background and let others have the spotlight, was an enduring songwriter.
Might not have been the most technical or flashy but Duck got it done, did his job and did it well.
Impossible for me to answer but I love Ray Brown. He always looks like he's having the time of his life when he plays!

My list of faves is quite varied, all of these had a hand in shaping my playing: Stu Cook, Pete Agnew, Steve Harris, Cliff Williams, Cliff Burton, Jason Newsted, Dennis Dunaway, Geezer Butler, Geddy Lee, Gord Sinclair, Flea, and many more - names escape me at the moment.
