Why do I need a 75th Anniversary Fender Precision Bass

Pretty sure you're in the minority on here. Guess I won't post a pic of my Aria Pro II Elite Black & GOLD, lol.
For celebrating such a landmark year for the company, the only thing these designs really say to me is, "We're running out of ideas". Don't get me wrong, I love Fenders, but these are just NOT attractive instruments. Hence, you do not need one.
Oh there is an anti gold hardware mob on this thread already.
Also, gold and black is good.
Fender are masters at releasing the same products over and over again with the most minor incremental changes. I guess people buy them. Certainly more than they ever seem to buy Fender's "innovative" products.
Well for one, 25 years from now a collector with the 25th and 50th anniversary Basses might be obsessed with having the 75th and is willing to pay you a ridiculous amount of money to complete his (or her) collection. That is the general idea I guess?

@OP, I'll support you. Ofcourse no one neeeeeddds it... But personally I dig pairing or the 'bourbon' burst with gold hardware. I bet it'll look great with some mojo.
That's true for a lot of their "special" models they periodically release but I just ordered a limited edition Roasted Ash Jazz Bass that weighs only 7 pounds. That's a big difference from their usual 9 pound offerings. Not even a Sadowsky NYC bass is that light, really looking forward to its arrival today.
Not sure about the others in the "mob", but in my case it's a simple case of having been burned a couple of times by how badly and how quickly gold plating typically falls apart when used in typicaly gigging environments.
Last I've Been Told, Fender Is Doing Just Fine!!to help prop up the economy. you are a hero!
