Why do they never get it right? (Epi Casady content)

further proof at Gibson/Epi they are a bit, say, "narrow minded" with respect to options is this: Casady bass sells because it is an excellent bass, right? Well: why don't they come out also with the 5 string version, too? I would buy one in a heartbeat myself*.

Even Fender (a notorious "dynosaur") came out with the Roscoe Beck 5 but when they saw it was a real hit, they developed the 4!!!

*Except if it was only available in silverburst, obviously!

 :)

Don't know how you compare the two situations. RB wanted the 5'er as HIS signature model and Fender talked him into the 4 also. I have never seen Jack play a 5, I am sure that he has , but clearly not his style.

I am just talking about an... "on the velvet" market opportunity: for sure Jack knows basses and even if not a renowned 5 stringer, he might help in developing the 5er. But if not a "Jack Casady 5 signature", a "derivative" 5 stringer could surely be developed. They would make and they would sell... see what I mean? Just add one string, a tuner and enlarge the neck a bit. Not rocket science, after all...

Heeey guys it's just color!
Generally silverburst finishes are not that common, but Epiphone have now and then made special runs in silverburst as with the Thunderbird IV (which looks great). If you dont like it, dont buy it!. I love my silverburst JC bass, 2.choice would have been a sunburst and 3. the gold top. We all have different taste and preferences, and thats really it! :-)

:)But they discontinued the RB 5 before the 4 although it was their best 5banger at that time imho.

I think Epi did everything right with the JC (and the Allen Woody too, btw). Great Bass for the buck and 3TS would be much more expensive in the production I guess.

And trhey would need to put a bigger toneblock to the body because of more neckdive, develop a new pickup to keep the sound alike, develop a whole new headstock...

There is something like that, the warwick star bass 5 /star bass sc5. but not for that price...

so, further proof they ARE actually crazy, uh????

well, that is their own field of application: better they do that! I was just "stressing" the concept. If Washburn could come out with this one below, at Epi they could do even better, with the sales volume they have around the globe and the factories on far east... (boy if I love this forum: who else would ever discuss "angel hair" questions like these around you at home?)

What is it: too hot this summer? Easy, man: this is a forum and it lives out of talks talks talks... sometimes serious talks, other times just, say, silly as on this thread!!! Can't you distinguish a "more ironic than serious" thread from something beefier? You are stating the obvious: I will surely not buy a silverburst bass; but I express my free opinion about what I think being a wrong color choice. But no reasons to loose the sleep for both me and you!!!

Relax, ok?! ;)

1) What you've "already said" is simply your opinion, not gospel.

3) The Casady has only ever been offered in three finishes. No problem, people still love their Casady's.

Sorry but my count is 4 finishes

1) Gold
2) Black
3) Silver Burst
4) Tobacco Burst

This one is mine and not for sale so don't bother asking.

Sorry for dropping in late

If you don't like this thread, too, just stop chimin' in: it will eventually die by itself

+2! (...summer effect also on myself: sorry!) :D

...4 finishes

let's see it in a different way; technically speaking, at any given time it has always been offered only in 3 finishes: reading your list, before it was available in 1,2,4 and now it's in 1,2,3. It would have been maybe wiser just keeping also the brown burst, too....
