My marketing class discusses Apple daily and more and more, I believe that Apple is for me. And yes, every day I hate Microsoft more and more. I don't think I'll be making the switch to Vista.

Why does apple have to be so arrogant?

Once again, I fail to see the relevance.
I'm not arguing the effectiveness of these advertisements. I'm saying that they're irritating and egotistical. Just because I remember the ads doesn't make them any less pompous.
When i read the OP's comment, what i extracted from it was "mac blatently said how vista required too much for most PCs and that is being arrogant"
and then you said they are egotistical, so what i immediatly thought of was how many commercials point out how they are better than the "leading brand" (although i sometimes wonder who exactly this leading brand is--apparently most every detergent is better than it) and even how pizza hut has actors acting like papa johns and dominos employees saying how much they prefer pizza hut.
did anyone call them out? nope.
its just advertising...thats all
my guess is that the only reason that people have a problem with the commercial is because they like windows a lot, and are feeling intimidated by the commercials and that windows doesn't come out and slam apple, which if they did, i am sure nobody would complain about it

Microsoft doesn't need to advertise it's OS.
But if they did it they could probably just say: "95% of all the businesses in the world run our products. Learning how to use Windows, Word, Excel, and Access will probably mean you get a higher paying job then someone who can only use a Mac."

And then Mac could be like "And then you can run that OS on a better computer and have the best of both worlds"
Jon Stewart is the man, and put it this way; atleast people who generally would not get any political information at all are getting some.
Arrogance of Mac? Compared to the arrogance of Microsoft World in which OS crashes are blamed on user error, that's a laugh and a half. The Mac commercials correctly point out... in an amusing way... that Windows is a clumsy complicated mess of an OS. Maybe the Apple commercials are a little cutesy... but hardly arrogant.
Being a gamer, it's been easiest for me to stick with M$. But I don't like it one bit. I really should get a Mac as my next PC, and leave gaming to dedicated consoles.

Well....they're right! Vista will ONLY run on 64 bit machines, there is NO 32 bit version. I'd say 70% of pc's right now are still 32 bit, unless you've bought a PC in the last 2 years. Even then, up untill very recently they were still selling 32 bit boxes.
That's because they realized that Mac customers are too stupid to understand metaphors.

On the other hand, most new motherboards these days require 64 bit processors forcing the consumer to switch over. I know because I had to do it myself and this was over a year ago.
I currently have Vista on this system on a separate HD. It runs fine. I'm not a huge fan of the GUI (creature of habit), but it runs just fine. This is a 32 bit system.
Clearly someone snuck in your house and put Mac parts into your computer without your knowledge. Anything less, and the software would have literally come out of the hard drive and force-fed you that magnet that's inside of all hard drives.
