Why does apple have to be so arrogant?

you've got to have some kind of edge when you're going against one of the largest companies in the world. I think the commercials are funny, even if they are blatantly egotistical. It's kind of like watching an obnoxious endzone celebration...egotistical but amusing.

i pods do sorta suck but all the other mp3's i heard are way worse, i think the should make stereo quality earplugs then be good so you don need headphones 4 good sound

If you are referring to ear buds by earplugs, then you might want to give the new Bose earbuds a try. My roomate used to have the Bose Quiet Comfort Cans, and now he got those new ear buds and loves them. I can't comment on it personally and I generally do not like Bose, but y'know...

There's nothing wrong with the ads. They're pointing out the features and benefits that they feel make Macs better than PCs in a creative way. Nothing to get upset about.

Personally I don't plan on running out and buying a Mac because I don't care about "super cool" music, photo, or movie editing features, and don't feel like overpaying for a computer that I'm only going to use for internet, word processing, and some gaming.

I LOLed when they said "PC's are only for work. Macs are FUN!"

LOL (just like that) I haven't done any work on my PC in years. But the only people who get Macs are students and people with money to blow on work.

This is exactly the same thing I think every time I see these ads. Compare the number of games released for the PC every year versus the number released for Macs.

I'm a gamer, and as such, I'll stick with PCs.

And to all the people who are constantly getting slammed with viruses and whatnot, what exactly are you doing? I've been running this PC since January of last year without a single virus or crash (minus a MB failure back in the summer, which is the fault of the manufacturer). I've had a couple of tracking cookies and other odd bits of spyware, but that's easily fixable.

I honestly don't understand what people do with their computers.

porno.

I've never gotten a virus. And I run no anti-virus software. I run Ad-Aware, Spybot, and System Mechanic once every few weeks. I use Zone-Alarm. I've always been clean. In all my years as a PC guy, I've never had to re-install or reformat because of a corrupt OS. I had one HD crash on me. That's a problem that could happen on either machine.

I really so no reason whatsoever to switch. Never even considered it.

That being said, I actually do think the commercials are funny. :D

Unfortunately the quality of games these days is about on the same level than quality of TV series. Atually games haven't been the same since they invented 3d accelerators.. :scowl:

I haven't seen any good game come out this year. Or since WOWcrack, which scores high points only on addictivity. Fortunately the few games that are worth playing live Civ et al are available for Mac.

Seriously, if you need any more proof that Macs are intended for the mentally disabled, then consider this:

I already stated why they "dumbed down" the commercial and got rid of metaphors.

Also, there was this:

One button. Double you tee eff?

My mouse has 2 normal ones, a scrolling wheel (which is also a button) and two side buttons. I use all 5 constantly.

well you guys know what... games truly are bad these days! graphics don't mean much to me!! i really do believe that in the past there was much more love put into a game because there were smaller teams working on them. now you can easily have a 300+ team on one game.

i don't game anymore, i don't console game... actually i've thought about getting an n64 again to play mario and banjoo kazooie and stuff... but anyway...

besides if you're gonna game it's not worth having to constantly upgrade and spend thousands on a computer when you can go buy the wii or something for 250 and never have to upgrade.

the gaming argument isn't a strong one anymore.

The gaming argument may not be strong one for you, specifically. It is for me. I love my PC games. And I love working on my computer so I don't mind spending the extra dough to keep it up to snuff. Basically, it comes down to preferences, that's all.

I am also very tired of the nostalgic gamers who think that gaming was soooooo much better back in the day. I disagree completely. I've been gaming since the Atari 7600. I will take Oblivion over any game I played on that console. Without even a hesitation. There were alot of good games on the NES and SNES, some I truly loved, but there were a huge amount of crap games too.

Exactly what I was thinking. Macs haven't shipped with one button mice for a while.

The stock might mouse has left click, right click, 4-way scroll wheel, scroll wheel click and the squeeze button. I replaced mine with a logitech mouse for Mac that has 8 buttons and a tilt scroll wheel.

I find it strange how people get so defensive about what OS they use. It's hardly even a step down from religion or politics it seems.

I think it's because hardcore mac users consider their mac to be part of their personality. That's why they put those Apple stickers and their cars and stuff. So other mac users can recognize them. It's like a cult. It's not enough to have a web page with all their art and music and stuff. They also have to have those "made on a mac" icons too.

Just yesterday a friend's girlfriend somehow worked her mac into a conversation. Not sure how that happened. I prefer to base my personality on things that I create myself and not things that other people create for me.
