Why does apple have to be so arrogant?

Yeah, I remember initially hearing they were only offering a 64-bit version. I'm not sure when they started offering a 32-bit version. Like I said, I'm a creature of habit. It was only pretty recently i even started looking at Vista.

Wrong! I am dual booting PCLinuxOS and Vista on a 32 bit machine.

That's because the cntrl key is the right mouse click.. :rolleyes:

I really like how you can't create a new folder in windows with a shift + apple + n keystroke. Instead you have to use the stupid right mouse click and select new and then select "folder" before you can name it... That's really effecient for a "business" machine. Another cool thing I like about PC's is that instead of using them to create things, you get to spend all that time updating your virus software and running spybot and adaware and routinely checking your registry and HKEY's for spyware. Then when you're done with all that you get to create something in Office XP that downloads new virus's and spyware in Outlook. Or for kicks you can switch over to Nod32 and then spend an hour trying to figure out how to uninstall MacAfee because THAT stupid thing kept downloading patches and updates in the background and crashing my Photoshop, which is two versions behind the CS2 version I have on my MAC. :rollno:

Did I mention that right out of the box I had to reformat my hard drive four times within the first 3 weeks because right after I spent 8 hours talking to some chick in India (who totally sounded hot with her British accent BTW) trying to figure out how to get rid of the Melissa virus, I got the blaster virus. This was before I downloaded any porn or illegal MP3's BTW. That whole experienced turned me into a nun with a cold sweat at the mere thought of porn.

So in response to the question posed in the OP, the answer is because they're better.

Or at least that's my not so humble opinion. :spit: :p :hiding:

I guess that's really the bottom line isn't it? It has to be a "good" experience and it should be an intuitive tool... I mean... Look at a hammer... There's no question that thing is designed to hit nails in the wall. It should be easy... No matter what the platform.

Seriously though... I've run both systems for years... Used to make my bread and butter in web development. My mac was great for design, but not so great for ASP, administrative work, and coding. This was the days of OS 9. Then OS X came and my PC became a headache as soon as I hit XP. We kept the PC because we needed the Japanese language pack. Now OS X has an even better more intuitive Japanese version of their OS and my wife and I have already concluded that we've bought our last PC. We have no need for it anymore. Another thing... I'm a teacher that is the Tech Coordinator at our school. I'm one guy running 350 OS X machines (updates and support) while teaching for 4 periods a day (not even full time). Occasionally I have to stay late afterschool doing odd things, but for the most part, out of 350 machines, I've only had 6 duds that I've sent back:eek: That's pretty good quality assurance in my book. I've been doing this for awhile, but the ratio of IT dude to number of machines for a PC is 1 to 10. Pretty rare one guy can run 350 PC's. BUT....

I still love you ;).

and then you said they are egotistical, so what i immediatly thought of was how many commercials point out how they are better than the "leading brand" (although i sometimes wonder who exactly this leading brand is--apparently most every detergent is better than it) and even how pizza hut has actors acting like papa johns and dominos employees saying how much they prefer pizza hut.
did anyone call them out? nope.
its just advertising...thats all

my guess is that the only reason that people have a problem with the commercial is because they like windows a lot, and are feeling intimidated by the commercials and that windows doesn't come out and slam apple, which if they did, i am sure nobody would complain about it

I hate those commercails too. I hate any commercial or ad where you say your product is better than a specific product. If you say your product is the best, thats fine. But if you say that it is better than a specific one, to me thats just s*** throwing. I also don't like Honda ads.
