I believe the transformer option also comes with balanced in/out as well as a line level switch or something?
So, it will be at least another week before posting my proper review; I apologize but my home and work schedule is just a nightmare these days. What I can tell you today is that the pedal really is excellent and sounds great. It can run on 9v from a battery or a standard supply; however the transformer only engages when you use an 18v supply. Unexpected bonus: it can cleanly drive any power amp by itself! What I am expressly NOT commenting on yet is how it sounds in direct comparison to the real 1176--you'll have to wait for that.
