Most PA cabs, especially smaller, 2-way cabs, are purposely designed to trade off a smaller package for reduced low-end response -- the theory being that if you REALLY need additional LF response, you'll add a sub. The full-range switch just typically removes a crossover or HPF filter so the speaker will deliver all of whatever LF it's got. REAL full-range PA speakers could accurately be described as FRFR, given that the term has no real meaning anyway. And I think there are more than a few TB'ers who play through regular ol' QSC K-12's or even smaller and seem to be satisfied. I don't know whether they consider themselves part of the FRFR set or not...as I say, it's just a label.I don’t understand why a pa cab isn’t an FRFR. Both I’ve used had a full range setting for use without a sub.

Thanks guys. I was only asking because I'm seeing more and more modelers adding bass amps. However you can't use many of the same FRFR solutions for bass. The best one I've used is the coaxial Xitone MBritt cab. It was fantastic for both guitar and bass on the Helix. It could handle just about anything as far as bass.
They "Tried" bass amps and cabs about 15 years ago, they were not very good and they only supported them for their few years run. After the last one was made they decided to not support them anymore.
That was when my 300 died.
They told me they are no longer in the Bass world and are only doing guitar items so we no longer support your amp for repairs.

I’ve been IEM only for a couple years, but I used a Yamaha dxr10 for a few gigs, and with the hpf set at 100hz it was loud enough for monitoring. I’m pretty sure two of them would carry quite a few gigs with the hpf off. I'm using modelers for 20 years and coax is not necessary the way to go. Having a coax design has nothing to do with harshness, it's for time phase alignment at closer earring distance. Give me a list as I think only Accugroove has powered bass cabs and some nice cabs that can also be used as FRFR (Latte is one of them) as suggested by OP and not in the same price range as Line 6. So we are not talking about a big offering here...Much better powered bass cabs on the market than anything L6 would offer
I agree with you on that. I think the best option for now is to use whatever FRFR solution you like and add a small 12" powered sub. I have an EV ZXA1 that's doing a nice job and weighting less than 30lbs it's easy to carry and fit a speaker on top (currently have an EV ZLX12P but I'm looking at the Laney LFR112).
