Those amps were getting blown out not too long ago and the cab is a heavy dinosaur like most of the Ampeg 4x10s. Some are just super heavy.
Overall not a terrible deal, just keep in mind there's going to be next to no resale value and there appear to have been some reliability issues.
You could save up a little more money and buy yourself a new head and a better used cabinet.

well im playing thru a ba115 now, and its not like im going to be playing stadiums, i just need a good bar amp, not sure if this will do the trick, i read those reviews and it doesnt help, some people say they love it one or two hated it, i find it hard to believe that it couldnt keep up with a full band as one said, i dont know
If you need a good bar amp and are not super worried about tone, you can get done for 300 bucks and not 450.
Generally speaking, reviews are super biased toward the positive end of the spectrum for some reason. If an Ampeg head gets an average review of 8, that smells to me like it is questionable. A good number of reliability complaints also.
Go Hartke or Peavey and don't look back. In KC I think you should have some Music Go Rounds around, and they have some crazy deals a lot of times

well by bar amp i just mean the volume aspect, tone is important, and so far ive been happy with what i have now its just not gonna be strong enough for now
Just my opinion, but I've owned a B2R and was totally unsatisfied with it with a single ~400w 4x10. I'd expect the B2R and the B5R to sound fairly similar and based on the wattage to have similar headroom.
I think you will regret dropping 450 on that instead of saving a few more bucks and getting something nicer. TB classifieds is chock full of crazy deals all the time.

Those Ampeg B5R amps are well known to have problems. I would stay away. Like the poster above said you can get a brand new Hartke or Peavy amp for the same price and they will be much more reliable.

Yes. It's a pretty quality amp. Not great imho, but decent, decent amount of headroom.
Still, I see basically zero reason to buy an Ampeg anything these days except the tube stuff. So many companies copping the sound better for less and lighter.

I own a Ampeg SVT12HE cab and it's heavy, so I can Imagine what a 410 weights. I sold the BR2 head which weight in about 20lbs +. You can get lighter rigs for the same money.
There have been a lot better deals on kc craigslist than that. You just have to look around.

Very true! I just saw a killer Carvin rig on there the other day. It was more money but much more amp! [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
If I didn't already have a nice Carvin rig I would have jumped on this.
