Will Smith just threw a $50m punch

In Smith’s world, being expelled from the Academy and being banned from attending any Academy events for 10 years is pretty big. Does that fall under the umbrella of “anything” as a punishment?

EDIT: Correction: I said expelled. Actually he resigned.

Do the math. The of Pursuit of HappYness came out in 2006. King Richard came out in 2021. That's a 15 year gap. And they banned him for 10 years.

I used to get hurt worse than that playing dodgeball every Friday during middle school. How was that not assault also? Just because it was encouraged by the public education system?
Uh, one is an unexpected (and, btw, illegal ... just sayin' :)) hostile blow, and the other is a game in which participants are knowingly taking part. Are you seriously gonna pretend you can't tell the difference? Jeez dude, give it up.

Smith himself has said that what he did was wrong (how many times does that have to be said before it sinks in ???). And apparently the cops were ready to arrest him, but for Chris Rock's decision not to press charges (according to the official story, anyway).

Look, this has gotten ridiculous. Really, are you just trolling at this point? Ye gods. I feel ya 5StringBlues. :)

A dodgeball player doesn't know when he is going to get hit either. And these are children...compared to an adult.
Maybe you are trolling if you can't see the comparison.

Dude. Did you even read what I wrote?

Actually ... does look like you're trolling at this point, to claim that physical assault, as legally understood, is the same as dodgeball. I dunno about you, but my school didn't have a "random-slap-out-of-the-blue" game. Alrighty then.

LOL, Dodgeball. This one kid in my school could break the sound barrier with one of those balls. It would sting for 20 minutes if it hit your leg. But at least you were out at that point.
It didn't help when you were 12 years old and the other guy was 15 with a full beard. LMFAO.
