Dumb question maybe but I can't recall seeing binding in colors like green, yellow, blue etc.....Are those options available?.....

LOL I meant the Ibanez shred machine, but that works too.

As for why? Well, try to imagine what main body color that would work with as an accent... Truthfully, all I can come up is black or white. Maybe someone with a better sense of color/design like @JIO could come up with more ideas.

I've seen tort binding too, looks great on lighter woods. My favorite is checker or some kind of multi-lamination like white/black/white.

Actually the leaf green pearl binding would have worked on my (bronze/ivory) TeiscoT45bird as a cool accent - green is like orange and purple... it depends on the hue. Certain hues of each could sway me - like a pale lima-bean green, a dusty burnt orange or dark eggplant...

I've grown quite fond of the Performer candy green - more so because it's so rare and is one of its characteristic shades. An alien colour for a space-age bass!

Finishing bits on the wings:

Used a doweling jig to drill 3/8" dowel holes for gluing the wings to the neck beam. Also took this time to drill a couple of 5/16" wire channels for the bridge pickup and the bridge ground.

Trimmed up the holes for the output jacks

A perfect fit

Currently building jigs for the headstock angle (6 degrees). I think if it becomes obvious that I won't make the 20th, I'll go ahead and commit to veneering and binding the headstock.

I used dowels on mine too, seems like a no-brainer to keep everything lined up, and increase strength. Don't know why Ric doesn't do this. What size bit did you use for the jack holes? I used 7/8" and it looks like I'll still have to relieve them a little to get the jacks to fit. It's fascinating to watch another builder approach the same problems. Looking great!

I used a 7/8" spade bit. I am using the space where the two holes meet to fit the lugs in. Once the cables are connected, I'll use heat shrink tubing to make sure the lugs don't form unintended connections.

Thanks, that makes sense, I still have the "bridge" of wood between the holes, so I can cut that out. My control cavity was a little too small overall, had to hog some more out along the edges to get everything in. Are you using a stock harness?
