You making one of these? -I hope my current idea of building something out of production since the 80s with a few modern twists fits the theme.
I will, eventually. I gotta get these other two done first. At my normal rate of one build every two years, the pointy thing should be roughly 2024-ish.LOL, no.

I need to make one of these so I have the full collection. I already have a Warlock and a Mockingbird. The Iron bird is missing, and I'm not paying what the original ones seem to be going for.I really want a super-pointy bass.
So I can go find some Jazz cats to bop with.
I'm gonna say it does.I hope my current idea of building something out of production since the 80s with a few modern twists fits the theme.
I dunno, I think the whole "ship of theseus" fits it pretty well.My parts build isn't looking great. I tried the kmise £30 neck on the budget eBay yamaha body.. It kind of fits, but it's a 34 inch scale neck, and it would put the bridge off the the of the body. So it must've been a short scale bass. So i thought maybe I'll make a neck to fit the body, then I thought well the body's not that great anyway so I might as well make a new body too....
Only problem is I've lost my renewal/ re-use theme!

I've run into that very demand, but I make it clear back that she don't know iota one of how to build, and I don't advise her to put her shoes on before her pants, so...I will, eventually. I gotta get these other two done first. At my normal rate of one build every two years, the pointy thing should be roughly 2024-ish.
But I can tell you, the wife unit has made it clear that I SHALL NOT start this one until the other two are done.![]()
If I had to finish the first guitar without learning to resolve the problem, that guitar would have been worth much less...... while sitting on a stand in my bedroom for the next decade.
IMHO and YMMV. If you lose any, ahem, jewelry in the exchange, I'm not responsible.I like that @Beej !!! I'm gonna go practice my new rebuttal in the mirror for a while. I have roughly a half a hour between the time I get home and the time she gets home.![]()
Reminds me of the Retrovibe VantageI'm seriously tempted, but I have to finish my other build first.
Don't know how it fits the theme, but I kinda want to build something with a Rickenbacker shaped body, but with Music Man humbuckers. Possibly as a bolt on (never built a bolt on) and its gotta be a 5 string. Do a maple/ walnut/ maple burger for the body, and a 5 ply m/w/m/w/m neck.

Look at it this way: Your idea was good enough for a company to make a production model out of. I say do it!I figured it wasn't that original of an idea. That looks pretty close to what I had in mind.
