Winter Build Off 2022 - Get Ready

Looking forward to seeing that become a bass!
Unless I can get the old oven in the garage working, it will be a Winter 2023 build :bassist:

Awesome! And I hope you're in a rural area and don't have close neighbours. Otherwise you better check your car door handles for dog poop in the morning. :smug:
It's not rural at all, but most of the neighbors usually have dogs barking all night, revving engines for no reason at all, or loud music at all hours. They have no real reason to be mad.

I should specify the wood is still fairly green, tree was a Red Maple. I just want to knock down the rough spots and get it ready for drying.

I hear ya there @AudioTaper , we have one neighbor who leaves for work at 11pm every night and he drives this PT Cruiser that sounds like he just took the muffler completely off. It's not even one of those coffee can sounding things, it's just an open pipe sound. :meh:
I think the worst part of that is that it's a PT Cruiser. I can understand if it's a muscle car or something...

11 isnt terrible. We had a neighbor do that at 5am. Not cool.

Yeah, for a long time I thought for sure it was the bright yellow Dodge Neon they also have in the driveway. But we finally saw it running and both my wife and I went "It's the PT Cruiser? Really?" :roflmao:

Used to have a neighbor with a fox body mustang. He'd put what sounded like a 3/4 race or perhaps a flat crank in it (with the associated high flow mufflers). It was his daily driver, and he left for work around 430 in the morning.

Problem was, He'd sit there gunning the engine for 10 minutes or so to warm it up to the point where it wouldn't stall out. (After noisily starting it and stalling about a half dozen times.) When he got home in the evenings the car would basically choke itself out when he stopped it, resulting in loud backfires and chugging sounds.

I often came >][< close to wanting to burn through the engine block with a pile of thermite.

I'm definitely the most annoying neighbour in my neighbourhood with my construction noise, hyperactive children and perfect lawn. :smug: Not much bad stuff goes on here in the land of gingerbread houses.
I live in the land of crap houses, so people have no room to be snooty.

I talked to the wife about the router at 1:30am. She didnt hear it, didnt even know I wasn't in the house. Then she mentioned the neighbors dogs barking half the night, loud music, and loud cars and they can be mad if I have a router going once in a while. :smug:

I started a build thread a while ago (like a year ago at least) but haven't gotten around to cutting any wood, aside from slicing up a chunk of Pale Moon Ebony for the fretboard a month ago. I probably won't have time to continue the project until at least the start date cause life keeps getting in the way.

Will I be eligible to enter the WBO with this build?

Sounds like a good fit
