I'm an idiot and made a mistake on the first day of Winter 2021, which is December 21 this year. So you have one less day to plan for the build off, BUT... you have one more day in which to build.

The 0.084" diameter lowest string rule stands. This means that in order for a completed build to be entered in the build off, the lowest string must have a minimum diameter of 0.084".
3. Addition of Exhibition Build Category:
In the past, during the Winter Build Off, some amazing builds occurred in the Luthier's Corner that were not part of the build off. They either were completely unrelated to the build off or were outside of the parameters of the WBO. I and others noticed that those threads ended up getting less attention than they might have if they had been active at another time.
This, plus the fact that at least three builders were planning to build something outside of the usual parameters of the WBO rules has driven the creation of the Exhibition Build Category. Exhibition Builds will be welcomed and included as part of the build off with "Winter Build Off 2022 Exhibition Build" in the thread title to both include a wider framework of builds but to distinguish them from builds that will be entered for voting.
Of course someone can just post whatever they want in a thread of their choosing at any time, but this potentially creates a chance for inclusivity in the community of builders during a fun annual event.
