Serek Basses

Serek is the guy's last name. He said he was trying to be different from Fender and Gibson and NOT use his last name as the name of the company. However, he couldn't come up with anything better. I think it's a pretty cool name for a Bass company.

I had a chance to jam out a bit through headphones on the Serek basses at the Reverb booth... Really comfortable basses, with real lively tones. Good times, pleasantly impressed!

He has some long scale as well. Check him out, he's pretty active on Instagram.

Huzzah! Pete Hilton was at the booth. So I got some more pics of his basses, and then I had a very lengthy conversation about wood. Pete is one interesting dude! One big takeaway changed my perspective. I think his basses are beautiful, and so I assumed that most of his time was spent on the aesthetics of the bass. Instead, how a bass looks is the last thing he tackles, and is some of the least time spent on the bass. It is far more important to him to have a balanced and functioning instrument than it is to have a pretty instrument.

I love Cole Clark! I was fortunate enough to play one of the prototype basses for the better part of last year and gave Neil some feedback on it for the production models. They are spectacular! I'm REALLY looking forward to trying one of the production models.

That is one of the Hammersmith Ks that went to Jesse Keeler of Death From Above 1979. I currently have a very custom K on order.

Also, the cards are from dealers who were requesting to be able to purchase it. I see at least 3.
So it seems like not such a bad idea after all.
Tons of coverage and buyers lined up.

Nordstrand did not have their own booth. If they were sharing a booth with anyone, I did not see it.
