So was @Carey just hangin’ out, or did he have a booth as well?

Nordstrand didn't have a booth. They had product in atleast a dozen booths and were happy to be untethered and able to socialize freely. It was while Carey and I were talking that I saw Bobby coming up behind him and said "dude, Bobby ****ing Vega is walking up behind you" and they of course know each other, so we lucked out that Carey was at our booth at that moment and we got Bobby to try out the PowerBlade pickup in the sparkle green J4-P bass.

I know of Chris Wyse mainly from The Cult. I expected him to come out and just rock. I was surprised when he started off with some beautifully melodic tapping. This dude is way more skilled than I realized.

However, later on he does play some Cult! He's also loving that new Liquifier Chorus Pedal.

I forgot to tell this funny/cringey story.

Among the people who came to see Chris Wyse is a lady in a "look at me" outfit, green hair, big sunglasses (but not at all close to attractive IMO)...you get the picture. Chris Wyse is introduced, and in the introduction they talk about his band Owl. Chris Wyse plays, and then talks, and when he talks, he talks about his band Owl. Then, it's questions-from-the-audience time.

An Ampeg guy is in the crowd with a microphone, which is a very good idea. I hate when I'm somewhere loud, they have a Q&A, and I can't hear the Q (and the answerer doesn't repeat the question for everybody). The green haired lady has a question, and I can see the look of regret on the Ampeg guy's face when he hands her the mic. It has the feeling of "you're never getting this mic back."

After adjusting herself, and making sure everyone can hear her voice, she talks about how Chris has played with Ace Frehley, with The Cult, and with Ozzy. She asks, "When are we going to see a Chris Wyse band?" The look on Chris' face was fantastic. It was a mix of "is this for shagin' real" and embarrassment. He repeated that he already had his own band; it's called Owl. The Ampeg guy tries to take the mic from the lady, but she holds on to try to save herself (because she realized she came across sounding really stupid), and asks, "I mean, when are you going to have a band with your name on it. Don't you think you deserve it?" Chris just said, "I think I'm going to stick with Owl. Next question?".

No kidding! I made it as far as page 24 - before I (for no particularly rational reason) went online and bought myself BASS #9. Yep, the same bass guitar I have been telling myself I didn't need for the past half a year...
