Playing a brand new venue in Milwaukee on Friday, the Twisted Fisherman Crab Shack. It's the grand opening and promises to have great food along with brews from my personal favorite local brewery, Lakefront. It's on the river between Potawatomi and the Harley museum on Canal St. for those interested 8-11.
It'll be nice to play a new setting as so many of our gigs are repeat rooms ( although I'm very thankful for those).

Who is all playing State Fair? My schedule for the fair is:
Tues. 8/2 12-5 Tavern at the Park
Thurs. 8/7 6-10 Brew City
Tues. 8/9 12-5 Tavern at the Park

Maybe the better question, what do you all plan on eating on a stick the next couple of weeks?

Played our annual show for the Wisconsin Kids Burn Camp last Saturday night at Boomers in Pewaukee. Raised some serious money for some great kids going through some rough things. Had a total blast!

We were joined for a handful of numbers by the local country rock singer Katie Beth who had just released her second solo CD project called Here I Am. Great disc, very cool tunes. We had Such a great time playing with Katie and I seriously enjoyed getting to sing with her and duet on a couple tunes as well. We had such a great time, that we at looking at doing some shows with her in September.

As we may be looking at moving forward after the holidays without our rhythm player, hopefully this could be something that helps us head into our 13th season. There was talk of sliding me over to rhythm guitar and trying to talk the old bassist out of retirement, but I just really have enjoy a re-birth as a bassist in the past two years. And honestly, don't know if I would stay if moved, but just as having a great bassist is of high importance, having a seriously solid rhythm player that sings is fairly critical to the show as well.

On the singer/guitar playing front, heading up to knock down some more tunes with Uncle Whiskey Breath next weekend. I still am amazed at how ridiculously tight we are after another yer and a half to two year layoff. Granted, I'm not hitting some of the Deep Purplish range tunes I used to, but hopefully after a f months of doing it again, that I'll be able to reach back up there. It has been fun to dust off the Explorer collection and start the re-stringing rituals. I don't mind a little drunk on my bass strings, but I can't take nasty guitar strings. But I do appreciate having the opportunities I have and the how fortunate I am to be able to play both sides of the fence.

When I get asked what instrument I play, I've always said I'm a singer, guitarist, but that I'm a bassist by trade.

Hopefully you will sell it soon Pedulla-Player. Btw, im going to spend this weekend with my family and friend in Wisconsin Dell. Does somebody know if there is any music store over there? So i can go and take a look what they have :).

I would be open to helping out if you need to move to guitar

Will keep you in mind. I really don't want to need to lay guitar with the country band. I have done so before when the old bassist drops in for a set every so often, and have had a great time doing so. But my power chordin' style of guitar playing is better suited to the rock genre. My true country guitar chops are pathetic, but my rhythm is basically pretty "rock" solid. If the previous bassist is into playing out again, I think that would be where I'd slide over due to familiarity and being "part of the family" still. The old bassist had gotten the timeless ol' ultimatum at home that had forced him to retire from playing out. And with the possibility of bringing in a new female voice to the group now, we can find a guy who can really play well, and we wouldn't need his singing at least.

And then again our current rhythm playing/singing guy wanting to retire to raise a new one...just might changed directions. Nt saying he's the second coming of old #4....but we've pulled him off this bridge before, just not before training camp every year!

Hey guys: I don't know why I never let anyone on TB know previously about my gigs, but better late than never!

I'm the bassist/songwriter/arranger/manager/band-mother of Magnus Pym, located in Fond du Lac. We do original, progressive funk-rock with a few arranged covers thrown in. I write music solely based to be musically interesting and semi-unpredictable, so it is a lot of fun to play and watch!

We have a gig coming up on the 31st at Glass Nickel Pizza Co in Oshkosh with Chicago natives Mutts, who are a ******g incredible trio (keys/bass/drums) that's like Tom Waits meest Clutch. These guys just released their 2nd full-length LP on Aug 2nd, and it is incredible. Needless to say, this is gearing up to be a ridiculously awesome time.

Nice!
We are playing with those guys (Mutts) the following night in Milwaukee! Apparently they are making their rounds! They do sound like a great band - looking forward to hearing them.

I checked out the music links you sent, good job - interesting style. I really liked the "Dirge of the Ideas". And congrats on winning that battle of the bands.

Let us know how the show goes, and anything else upcoming. It's always good to support local!

Well Guys
Any thoughs on a loction for the fall GTG I thought Madision worked great last year.
The place was spot on Thanks to The interceptor for setting that up. Who ever sets it up you can count on me to kick in my share of the cost to rent space for the afternoon.

Fall will be here before you know it...
If something doesn't get planned soon we may be looking at a winter GTG.
