Oh, agreed. I only mentioned setting the bridge first in case the holes were too close to the bridge to get a full 30". If for any reason you had to back the bridge too far, the string angle as they bend over the bridge begins to get significant, which could lead to a breakage. Since Every Wishbass Is Different And Special In Its Own Way, Gub won't know until he tries it. I just wasn't making any assumptions about the true scale, though on a Shorty, you'd want every inch you could get.
Well......took the bass to rehearsal last night. she's def a keeper!! she got along real well with everyone else, and didn't start any fights. so far this bass is a huge win.

Thanks for not bidding the price up against me! My thoughts exactly: if the bass isn't up to snuff for $225 shipped, the PU, bridge and tuners would be. Not that I'd do that but still....as for stuff I'm considering losing, it's all fairly low end: turser 401, fender 'squier series' mexi-P, some effects. haven't decided what'll go yet though.

that's actually why i snagged the Wish-vee. figured a fretless with a big body 4 could pull off some of the same sounds as Oleg's balalaika (and it does!).
i used to live in Boston, and saw em every so often.. now i'm a few miles from the Santa Monica pier, and they play there all the time.. so i've seen em 3-4 times a year for the past few years

Yeah, he's acting like Wish is already in retirement and suddenly the world is scrambling to own these things - not likely. Might be kool for those of us who already own some and have extras, but otherwise a drag ...
Guys; I just got a second chance offer from Wish on his little 6 string electric humbucker screamer - and I accepted it; and it's not even a bass! I must have G.A.S. BAD ... gosh, how can he sell this stuff so cheap? - I feel bad (almost). More later. It ships Monday of course.

thanks!!yeah, i just had a rehearsal tonight with another group i play with......and wow, it really sits well in the mix, i've decided to leave the round wounds on, it really growls nicely. i currently play dr flats on my fretted schecter custom 4 because i love the feel, but i can't get over the sound this bass is producing....and with just one knob....volume.

You know, after seeing StandUpright's new Lobe and Gubna's PJ, along with Thunderitter's Fantasy and Rollerberg's fan-fretted Hyper, we have probably 4 of the nicest Wishes I've seen so far. Of course there are many, many more I have not seen, but these are just outstanding! Gad Zooks .........
Anyway, thanks for all the kool pix. And, way to go StandUpright for actually using yours in a band setting. How many of us are actually doing that, I wonder?

Well, not in a real band, but I take mine to my monthly jams all the time. Today was a very gratifying get together. I decided to go old school, and left all my active basses at home. Brought my 69 Jazz and my purpleheart Hyper with a Duncan split coil noise canceling jazz pu. Two guitars, me, and drums today, and it sat very nicely in the mix. PLaying music is FUN, nice basses make it funner. I know, that's not a real word..........
