I don't make a Wal clone.
I have two versions of the pre-amp. The EQ01 has one lowpass filter per pickup and a high pass filter working globally. This is only available in my own basses.
The EQ02 which is the retail version has one lowpass filter and one high pass filter.

I believe "Wal clone" was in reference to the pre that SGD is working on.

Can't wait!

So will the pickups be usable standalone or do they follow the same 500 wires per pickup model than wals use?

They can be used stand alone.

They actually have 5 wires for a 4-string version. You have an output for each string and a common return and ground. So on a stand alone install, you would connect all the string outputs together, which is what happens at the input of the preamp.

On the old passive version they had each row of coils in series.

So Alan do you think that with four ouputs per pickup, there would be a way of connecting these to the pair of 02's?
Or would that be something that John would chime in on.

Looking forward to these David. I think the combination of these pickups and the EQ-02's would make my bass really come alive.

this thread dies so fa fast

It's not dead... just resting its eyes. :D

I was very busy with a swarm of orders, and also for a customer that I make pickups for that was going to NAMM, and I had a number of parts problems, but I'm back on track now and as soon as I get my remaining orders caught up I'm finishing up the Wal pickup prototype.
