I just now changed from a Para DI with a Keeley Bassist going into it. Nice little combo...
What I did with the Keeley would definitely be along the lines of a clean boost. I used very little compression. Mostly I used the gain like a clean boost to fatten up the tone/signal going into the Sansamp. Worked great.

The bassist from Bethel uploaded a board picture recently and just did a walkthrough. Pretty cool signal chain. I saw them in Baltimore the other day and his tone was really good. I like the idea of splitting signal and then summing it back before running into Octave down and dirt. I've experimented with running a split signal path and giving FoH both lines. But they end up relying on dry signal a bit too much, especially when I want to use Octave down for big hits and it robs you of that "massive" sound you want when you kick on Octave. So summing on the board and then hitting it with Octave would be neat. I've been debating one of those Goodwood signal splitters to try something like that, I've been seeing that pop up on a few boards.
New week, new rig from me. This is sorta a throw back to an older rig of mine. But I like it better now, I was missing the Rodenburg before which is kind of a secret weapon I think, lets me get 2 gain stages without taking up much space. This is just so space efficient it's hard to top.
Signal chain is: TU3->VP4->Cali76->Microsynth->Rodenburg 808 (under the board, always on)->RNDI (out to FoH via the XLR output on the Rockboard) instrument thru->Eventide H9 w/3 button footswitch->TS9DX->Noble which goes out to the FoH again.
Hard to cram anything else into this. I love the layout of this board, it's perfect for getting solid Tetris layouts on.
And here is the underside shot since there is a fair bit going on down there:

You using the end flat patch cables there? Looks well put together!!
Thanks! Yeah, I'm a big fan of the flat gold ebs cables. They make laying stuff out so easy. And I have no issues with noise from them.
This is the simplest, most efficient pb I’ve built to date..on a Nano!
Gorgeous bass tone...pb is absolutely dead quiet! Leveling Amp is insane for compression/studio-like tube tone—every knob is completely usable min-max, +6db boost stomp, and variable output level transformer DI. Ghost Ridge has 4 types of terrific reverb + chorus mod knob...and 4 presets.
Purging pedals, soon...as the Effectrode LA is a game-changer for me—I’ve been chasing fat/buttery bass tone, without needing much dirt. Cioks DC7 underneath—using a Cioks 8800 parallel cable to achieve (12v) 1 amp power from two isolated jacks, for the tube comp.

Why you rocking a dedicated tuner when you have the h9?
Ended up switching some stuff around.
Removed the dsrkglass b3k for a bit.
Added the mission expression pedal and the jhs little black buffer. The expression pedal plugs into my h9s ox9 and lives off board. Used both as expression and as a volume pedal.

Love this new setup - Lakland DJ5/Stingray Special 5 -> Polytune 3 -> Maxon CP9+ Pro -> Aguilar Octamizer-> Darkglass X Ultra with full band comp and Shiftline B15 Heritage cab sim
X Ultra does excellent cleans and dirt can be switched in nicely without compromising the clean tone. Don’t really need the Maxon but adds a nice punch.
Hey thanks! This tuner is in the chain before the VP so I can tune silently. The H9 is after the signal split. So it doesn't mute both channels.
Beautiful board. Have you had a chance to use it yet? How are you liking the compressor?
I'm thinking a board with just that compressor, a tuner and a Radial Stagebug DI might be in my future.

I’ll test it in a secular band situation this week, including use of the built-in balanced transformer DI...will report back.
At home, the compressor is really usable/effective! Played thru all my Berg cabs (ceramic REF210•112•112/neo HG412) using both my Berg Forte HP and Vanderkley Spartan amps. Had my ear next to the cab grills—by f-a-r the quietest comp pedal I’ve used (mainly Cali76cb, Super Symmetry)... No comp meters on the pedal, but it’s pretty obvious what’s happening as you turn dials at home...gig environment, we shall see.

Two small additions that made me very happy...Boughton LPF (top left without the label), and the pedal for controlling my TCE RH450 amp head, icluding mute and tuner on the pedal (the long pedal along the bottom). I almost never use a cabinet at church, and i know it’s overkill, but the RH450 is a lovely DI. I don’t know how I ever got by without either of these additions.

So I guess one can skip the separate DI and plug in something like the Mogami Gold TRSXLRM-25 Balanced 1/4" to XLR (or an @ExaltBass crafted cable) into the balanced transformer output and plug the other end directly into the snake. I (typically) like transformers. Sweet!
