You can get away with a Pedaltrain nano+ and a one spot cs6 (fits under the nano) for sub 200. Comes with a case too and it would keep everything safe while still being compact

I've got a line on PT Metro 20 for $54, if that's a size you'd need.
First I'm going to see if the preamp/DI makes a discernible difference. If not, I may just have Dave make me a cable and use the "DI" our on the LA-1A like I did last Sunday. I'm just afraid I'm going to like the preamp and DI option.
I'll cross the "what board" bridge later. I think I'll use the CIOKS DC-7 for power. They are thin and fit under most boards from what I've seen/read.

I tell you what, I haven't had a piece of gear make me want to play like this LA-1A. Sounds great but the "feel" is different as well.

It's amazing how a good compressor can inspire you to create. I've had that experience twice. First, maybe 6 months ago after switching from a TC Spectracomp to a Fairfield Accountant. Most recently, this week after landing a Joe Meek FloorQ. It really does make a difference. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
@SteveC you can't go wrong with the Cioks DC7...the most compact, versatile (and quiet) power option I've ever used.
My RNDI sounds stellar after the LA-1A. Sadowsky preamps are in most of my basses. Using solely the LA-1A DI is not a huge "sacrifice" on tone. Beyond the LA-1A DI, it's kinda "splitting tone hairs" at that point...may (or may not) be worth the extra coin to you?
[Edit/add] I do prefer using the RNDI after it...this is weighed against my constant self-debate question: How real estate compact do I want to be? (answer goes in cycles...) Since you already have the Sadowsky pre though...easy (and no cost) to experiment.

Well, I can bypass the Sadowsky so I can kind of try it both ways on Sunday.
What about the compact version of the PolyTune? Easily as good a tuner in terms I'd stability and functionality and display as the Boss stalwart. Been using the bigger version for a decade now with no complaints. In fact it's what relegated my TU-2 to the bits and bobs box.

Polytune mini2 works fantastically for me. Super quick note acquisition, even down to the B. And very accurate.
Don't know about the "mini" but the ordinary version of the PolyTune also had a daisy chain out just like the TU pedals...
Well it looks like I'll be spending on a power supply so the daisy chain power feature isn't a deal breaker any more.
I'll be interested in your thoughts. I haven't had the chance to use mine live yet, but am very impressed with the tone I'm getting through my mixing board and cans.
I do have an opportunity to use it live this weekend so really looking forward to that.
So here is the most mini version I can do with currently owned equipment - minus the cable I'd need Dave to make me to go 1/4" TRS to Male XLR to use the 600 ohm out on the LA-1A (tube drive pictured as they didn't have the LA-1A as an option on the Pedaltrain build a board thing) as my DI.
Right to left signal path TU-2 to LA-1A to Board. The IEM return comes back to the Rolls PM50 (the generic image) and to my IEM's via a Dave cable. Unless the Sadowsky preamp/DI makes the LA-1A sound NOTICABLY better than it did by itself last week, I think I'll go with this board and just use the wall wart for the LA-1A and use the OneSpot for the TU-2 and Rolls. The difference between plugging in one or two things is minimal, and the cost of a "proper" power supply and bigger board to fit the Sadowsky is a few hundred so...

Scuba maybe you can answer this...I love the Markbass compressor and regret ever getting rid of it. Is there any reason I can't seem to find one them new anywhere?
