FYI - the LA, DC7 and Nano will be posted soon. Not going to sit around and get "analysis paralysis" this time. The REDDI sounds great alone.
The Genzler combo sounds great and I only use it a handful of times a year so I can't justify an expensive compressor.
If I don't have the LA-1A I don't need the CIOKS DC7.
Probably like something like this:
LA $400 (with bridging power cable) shipped
DC7 $200 shipped
Nano $50 shipped
Package deal $625 shipped

I have found that with the Broughton ETDI (tube DI) that I prefer my passive basses with the LA-1A, than with my actives. I think I need to rethink my settings for actives. Try your Roscoe P Bass next week first and see if you get a similar result.
I did try the P as well. It may benefit a little but I didn't think I'm the grand scheme of things it was that noticeable. It may not sell either so we'll see. But the consensus was the REDDI alone was "if" after listening back to the recording as well.
I played for decades without compression so it may have been more the tubes giving me that sound I liked. Idk. I'm just gonna post it and see what happens. Don't want to overthink it this time. I've got a REDDI and a new custom cable to pay for.
Its great since sub tone, you won't be disappointed.
We'll see. If it doesn't sell, maybe I use it with my amp until it does.
need to figure out the Synth situation now. Kind of leaning to the Yamaha MOXF6. It's overkill on size and features but the sounds are insane.
Not intending to sway you one way or the other with this comment. As a tone enhancing device with subtle smoothing you have the compression set higher than I would prefer with the REDDI after it. 9:00 max for me when paired with the REDDI.
Interesting you mentioned this...I also turn the LA compression knob much lower 8-9 when using my pb > Jule Monique. I find the LA (and S1) still valuable for further enhancing Monique tone...
Monique is plenty fabulous on its own...but more tubes (and hp/lp filtering) in the chain, certainly doesn't hurt...

That is some really aggressive Low Pass Filtering!
Absolutely...my ear prefers 2-3 kHz corner territory, for most (but not all) situations. I always adjust by ear though...given the bass, vtc setting, music, etc...
I should add, regarding above pic...I rarely use both Monique and pb together. Individually, they each yield fabulous bass tone. DI only, I'm r-e-a-l-l-y happy with the pb alone...though I've used Monique (only) at church many times, with great results.
Monique is completely worth keeping around...when paired with my (sealed/ceramic) Bergantino NV412—old school magic!

I ordered a pelican case (iM2300) for my stuff today. Should have it in a couple days. If I measured correctly, I can put my REDDI, TU-2, Rolls PM50s in there along with the power cables and 1/4" to go from tuner to REDDI.
Dave is making me a DI/IEM combo "snake" cable (bass DI, synth DI and IEM return cable all in one 30' braid) that will go in my bass gig bag along with my "Dave Special" bass/IEM combo cable. Still an easy load in...until I decide on a synth.
Still have my Nano for sale.

That was fast. LA-1A and CIOKS DC7 gone. Rebuild the gear fund after the REDDI purchase. No "analysis paralysis" on this one. Made the decision and moved on it. Feels good. It'll be fun to pluck the foam to customize the case this weekend.
Doing the same with changing vehicles. If I get "X" for my Audi, I'm leasing a new GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. Cut my payments by a couple hundred a month. Move up 4 years to a new vehicle. No expense but fuel and oil changes. With gigging down, saving a couple hundred a month and no unexpected expenses isn't the worst thing.

Ok y'all. Need some advice from those that have or have had a 3 leaf Audio Proton.
Finally got mine in the mail a few days ago. I want to give it a fair shot because of all the great reviews.
Keep in mind, the only other experience I have with a filter was an MXR a few years back.. I don't recall having issues with finding a setting, or a few, that I liked..
With that said, it seems to sound very high pitched, but turning the tone down past a certain point it just gets super dark sounding... no in between..
Plus, once I find something that's ok, it's just that, just ok... I'm confused.
I've read the instruction sheet several times on knob operation, but what am I missing..???
Maybe I just liked the MXR better..??

Well I couldn't decide how to downsize so I went bigger. I picked up the board with a road case for $100 on a local Craigslist steal, I mean deal. Added the DD3T and the Zoom MS60b. After leveling the factory patches I like it.
Helix is out of my budget range for casual volunteer status. I wish though. Instead I have decided to add a delay and a zoom ms60b to my current board and go big.
Yeah, that is what I thought. And then I sold off some effects and unused equipment and had enough for the Stomp, Morningstar MC6 and a Pedaltrain Nano+. My smartie Wife, who was tired of me grumbling about the weight of the old rig, said "Well, why didn't you do that before?"

My wife apparently sees and remembers everything. We have a "you can have it twice" guideline in our house. I got the REDDI and she said so no more REDDI's. I said how do you remember I had one already. I did. For like a week about 5 years ago or more. She sees all. Of course sometimes it's handy. Like when she went to a concert and I couldn't and she came how and was able to tell me the bass player was using an Avalon U5, a P bass, etc.
She also suggested I should ignore my keyboard player (didn't think the Sub 37 was a good choice as it couldn't do a "Take on Me" type of sound which I can kind of get using a pick on a bass) and play what sounds good for everything but that one song. She's patient and wise.
