If I could have a wishlist for the Noble, it would be to have a slightly smaller (and maybe cheaper?) version that doesn't have the PSU built in. My friends who own a Noble all end up using their CIOKS PSU for their pedals since a lot of the pedals require different voltages.

I was thinking the same thing. I already have a CIOKS, and wouldn't need the in built PSU. It would be great to at least have the option when ordering to have a version minus the PSU.

Thanks! It's a really great pedal! Being able to adjust the gain for each channel with internal trim pots is pretty nice to have!

What board is that? a metro 16 or 20? I just bought a khan VTDI (it and the noble are very similar in dimensions) and am building a second board.

In need of some suggestions for this next board. It will have a polytune 3 mini noir, into a Cali 76 CB (black top), and either the khan (will be here next week) or noble (around march of next year).

Think I’m going to add the DCX bass or vintage microtubes for some color/drive.

Any recommendations from y’all on what else to add? Octave pedal maybe? I know what all the “big boys” use. Cali76, hx stomp, bass microsynth, tone hammer, and noble but I kinda wanna do something slightly different, but same basic idea obviously… not sure if that makes and sense at all? Hahaha

Like you, I know what the "big boys" use and I've gone my own route.

How big is your board? Regardless, I'd mount the Khan beneath it and skip the Noble. Your StingRay already has a preamp. You don't need further tone shaping on the pedalboard itself. (I also play an active bass and have mounted a Khan below my board so I'm speaking from experience.)

DCX Bass is an excellent drive. Much better than Darkglass (even the Vintage Microtubes) for a worship sound, in my opinion. If you need to play some bass synth lines, then the combination of a 3 Leaf Octabvre --> 3 Leaf Doom 2 --> Iron Ether Xerograph Deluxe cannot be beat, though it's difficult to acquire (you could substitute with a different octave and fuzz and filter if necessary). Throw some modulation after it. Chorus is standard, but I like phaser because it also sounds great with the 8th and 16th note driving lines that feature in so much CCM.

sounds solid… the noble is already payed for, gotta try it to know, ya know?!

I was already thinking about the Aguilar octamizer… but I am undecided. May just go the oc5 route. what phaser do you use?

Also the board has not been acquired yet. So I can get my set up first and then get a board to match it.

still keeping my nano with tuner, keeley bassist and bddi v2 for a small grab n go, basic board.

I love my Free the Tone BB-2 for overdrive. It’s discontinued, but there are still a few available on Reverb. Free the Tone’s newer bass overdrive is the Black Vehicle, and it sounds really good in the recordings I’ve heard.

I use a Chase Bliss Wombtone MKII. It's discontinued, though, so prices have really soared. Other options might be the Spaceman Explorer, Mu-Tron Phasor III, or Aguilar Grape.

I love my Free the Tone BB-2 for overdrive. It’s discontinued, but there are still a few available on Reverb. Free the Tone’s newer bass overdrive is the Black Vehicle, and it sounds really good in the recordings I’ve heard.

Great suggestion! I owned both the BB-2 and Black Vehicle. Both are solid options, though I ultimately preferred the Black Vehicle. I used that for years. Took it off my board a couple months ago when I finally secured a Broughton Sunray.

Newest addition is the SVTDI. Love it. So fat and juicy. A significant improvement over the Radial JDI that I have used the past few years, which is no slouch itself.

I wish I would have known what the SVT-DI was when I had a chance to buy one a few years ago. It was before I went through my tube phase.

Indeed it does. Even passive without being powered on it is still louder and clearer than the JDI. It’s a beast.
