I absolutely love the DE version of the Humboldt (!!!) — My singular gripe has been the form factor.
With this new version being in a much more compact form factor I dare say the device has attained Sainthood.

Tell us more, way this Humboldt has worked for you and your set-up?
The latest batch is still in stock and I have one in the cart........but board space is now fully allocated to things I value so this has to bump something.
I like it a lot, easy eq at the end of my chain and a great DI. Has been the core of my boards for the last 3 years.
It’s a really easy to use, and great sounding comp. And the transformer is just magic! “Special Sauce “ indeed! I run the Harmonic Booster after it for a little more EQ and a sweepable mid, it’s just the tone I’ve been chasing. If the smaller one had been available I would have gone that route, but I don’t see a big enough reason to change.Tell us more, way this Humboldt has worked for you and your set-up?

I would have three preamps with the Humboldt, Origin DCX, and Broughton Messenger (just got a Studio One to replace it). So, one of them would have to go. I think a solution could be the Humboltd first-in-chain and DCX last-in-chain as final EQ shaper/saturator. Then into an RNDI I have sitting around. Re-read the review and ordered the Humboldt so I'll try out some combos!

Used it for the first time today.
Didn’t use the new pedal though, just the volume pedal and chorus.
But the Octave could come in handy if we have no keyboard player, or the guitar sound needs thickening up, or just that an octave would sound good.

Today's worship board. This week we welcome the Doom from the current drop and the Low Rider picked up from @MikoFX surplus device inventory. Really enjoyed using both.
I'm happy and content with my pedalboard, but posts like this ^^^^^, makes it so tempting to build an analog board... haha...
Looks awesome!!! I can only imagine how I would use it, and how good it sounds!!! Not closing the door on that option... but I'm good for now.

Some of that is based on fitment on the board. I'd rather have the DCX first in chain and the HX One after the Tone Hammer, but having the HX on the upper tier made stomping those two buttons tricky. This week I was using the Doom for big choruses then adding the HX One flanger for extra-synthy vibe. Having them next to each other is handy (or footy?).

I have been debating a compressor a lot lately. I need to look at the Stomp compressors again and how I have them set. I have also debated going back to the Empress Bass Compressor again, but as I have a Stomp I feel I should try to start there. I have room on my board and power supply so I could, but I'm going to try tweaking a bit with the Stomp and see what I can do.
The DCX provides my clean tone with a little saturation. I kick on the Tone Hammer for that first level drive when playing with a full drum kit. That next level drive for bigger moments is where I've been trying different things. Personally, I'm settling into fuzz devices for that role. They sit in the mix well and can sound creamy smooth or crunchy punchy attack. My limited experience with the Doom makes it a good fuzz device but it also sounds really cool with some modulation after it, like a flanger or chorus. A cool piercing tone that brings a synth vibe to the bass in those huge moments. Its seems pretty versatile from low gain saturated drive to full fuzz to synthy to huge (with octaver engaged).
