I recently purchased a pedaltrain metro 20 and finally got what I actually use on the board. I had a few other items but when we switched to a digital mixer I took them off since those features could easily be controlled on the mixer (compressor and eq).

I'll probably get some eyebrows raised with the Art Tube MP. I recently picked it up really cheap and put it on there last night just to play around with. I've read all the pros and cons of the unit, but it's so cheap that I figured I'd at least play with it a little. I ordered a replacement tube just to see what that does.

@kevk that looks great and a wonderful collection too.

This makes me think about my board and I have a question for everyone here. Do your boards get “set” and not change? It seems like mine is always changing. Always pieces moving in and out. This week is really simple— Wireless>Volume>OD>Compression>Reddi. Other weeks there could be 3 or 4 more added to the chain. Thoughts?

So I've decided to get back into the pedal game thanks on this and conversation with wife. Im definitely getting the EQD dispatch master. I'm going to do a bass board instead of a combined board. The rest is up in the air. Going to go for a compresor and OD. I really am leaning toward the EBS MultiComp as an always on, as I love the tubism setting. I'm also thinking of the Darkglass B3k based on what I'm hearing in this thread. May think of an octave pedal to do synth sounds. We'll see. Good stuff. Thanks for the input and patience with me!

Love it! Exactly the filter tone in my head. I would characterize it as a "one trick pony" regarding tone, but every YT clip I heard while researching...sounded like what I was going after. It's been the hardest pedal on my board to get "right"...

My brain intuitive thinks I need to have more control knobs for shaping filter tone, but here's the DiscumBOBulator reality for me: set the knobs at 12 o'clock (or close to it), kick it on with an octaver...and GO! Sounds fantastic with all my basses, and it plays well with my Octabvre Mini, VMT, and/or Avalanche Run, too! I shape more of the tone with my octave pedal, than this filter.

It just sounds good, right out of the box! There was no surprise when I received it...most of the the clips I heard represented it well. It's my least used pedal, but it's perfect quack tone when I want it.

Also, it operates dead quiet in the quack-up mode and a little noisy in the quack-down mode. The boost is very quiet, but not sure I would have designed the pedal that way...still figuring out how best to use the boost option.

It's not necessary to use the boost (the filter pedal on/off doesn't change overall pedalboard volume output)...but you CAN use the boost option (like an independent boost pedal) for any other pedal (without the filter on), too! I'd buy this filter again, for sure...

Done it both ways, and prefer the "set and forget" method better. For some reason, I tend to stay out of the pedal "rabbit hole" a little better that way...find the right pedal for each category desired (comp, octaver, OD, etc)...then step on what I need from gig to gig.

The key for me though, was getting the optimum size pedal board for transport. I love my Nano, but it can't hold enough types of pedals, and had me swapping in/out constantly, which became somewhat annoying...

The Classic Jr (w/Tour Case) has been perfect...holds all the pedals that I'll ever need, yet still a really manageable transport...it's small enough to keep me from "second guessing" if I should break it down even smaller? ;)

Still digging my Xtomp running into GK PLEX with South Hampton Ictineo running into the effects loop of the PLEX. The PLEX covers my needs for DI, compressor and tuner in one unit with the Ictineo carrying the weight of the preamp tone (and oh it is good for that) and I use the Xtomp for whatever effect I'm needing at the time. This morning, just a nice simulated Xotic EP booster. It all fits on a Pedaltrain Nano which fits in my Mono Tick on my Vertigo.

I had a Dispatch Master, absolutely loved it.. you should enjoy it.
As for comps, I have an MXR Bass Comp I'm having to sell, if you're interested
