I like a lot of Tommy Walker personally, the music is a lot more technically challenging than a lot of CC/Worship music. Been playing for 10 years with at church with a great director, musician, and producer - and I'm a better all 'round player for it. For gear - usually use my MM Stingray running through a boss Limiter or a Presonus comp. The Presonus compressors really are quite fantastic- too bad mine needs some work done.

HEY!!! This is an awesome group. Sweet.

My rig used to consist of a Yamaha RBX6JM/Fender Jazz V->peavey mixer that sent one signal to my Peavey 210TX and the other to the FOH.

Now I run a Warwick Corvette 5 into an Avalon U5->Crown Macrotech->Epifani PS210.

My favorite song to do right now is an early very funky version of "Everybody Praise the Lord" by Lincoln Brewster. I also love Hillsong stuff.

That's a good one!

I play for First United Pentecostal in my adopted home town. Play my Zon fretless on Sunday morning, my Nordstrand SC5 on Sunday night and most Wednesday nights. Sometimes I bring one of my other basses on Wednesday.

My current favorites are a Black Gospel arrangement we did of Say the Name at my old home church back in Dallas. We always brought down the house (and the Spirit) with that one!

At my current church we do a couple of Black Gospel numbers as well. One is called Rain, Lord, and the other is called Let your Holy Spirit rain, and no, neither of these is the similarly titled Hillsongs number.

I honestly don't know who wrote it...might be Tommy Walker though (I love his work). Israel Houghton did a version, and anything by him is just amazing for me. His bassists are always on point, great players. I currently do not own a rig. I just use what my church has. We have an Ampeg B2 and a 4x10/1x15 for big venues outside and inside the sanctuary we have a B210, not bad- but not great. I just got a Curbow Petite fretless 5, so that's my main and only bass :/ But what a bass! :D God bless!!!

I wooped at this thread ehe!! Count me in!

I play in a small church, so i use my sansamp para BDDI directly into PA. I play a EBMM sterling. Use in-ear monitoring though I'm not a fan of it!

Favourite worship leader is Matt Redman, or Ben Cantelon (who was awesome at soul survivor this year!)

favourite faster paced song is "salvation is year" by Hillsong united, the bass line is sick!!

and slower paced song is "Love came down" by Ben Cantelon.

I have started/been involved in several threads of this type in the past and (for some reason) they seem to die an early death....let's hope that this one live on for a good while!

I play at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dundee Illinois....we play a good mix of "New Christian music" and the "older standards"....I love them both for various reasons.....I have 3 four bangers and 1 fiver that I find comes in handy since our worship leader seems to do alot in "odd" keys such as Eb etc....He also has a tendency to change keys at least once per song so we have to stay on our toes!!!

We have some great singers and great musicians which helps me praise and gets me excited to play often....there is one other bass player at church so I play 1-3 X per month (depending on work travel, etc)....

I really like Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and others....we just did a version of "Ready for You" by Kutlas which I am particularly proud of (since I picked it out and talked the guitarist and drummer through it since they never heard the song)....I also like "Enough", "Forever", "Let the Church Rise", and many more which would take way too long to mention!!!

As you can see, we used to post a few songs from each Sunday...this has been put of "temporary" hold until they can update the web site....but at least you can sample a few of the songs we do....the quality is so-so, but that is also to be improved with the new web site!!

Every Sunday is recorded which is great for practice, review, improvement etc.....

don't want this post to get too long...already too many subjects in here!

I am not currently playing regularly in a worship ministry but I played many years at a large church in the Detroit area where the Worship leader wrote several of the early Integrity worship songs, Like "my life is in you Lord". While there I got to play with Paul Beloche and two tunes with Donnie McClurken when he came to the church for a special service. Pauls tune "Praise Adonai" and Fred Hammonds "I will bless His Holy name" are my two favorites. I still sit in some, and my start up again with another church that just contacted me. My rig is a Sadowsky Metro RV5, Thunderfunk 550A, and LDS 210UL and 212UL cabs. For a lot of church gigs I just grab my Sadowsky and a Radial Tonebone and play thru their backline.
