I play in church every sunday. My rig consists of a Nemesis 210 and a Carvin LB75. My favorite songs to play on are Trading My Sorrows, and All Things Are Possible, the latter of which I get to rock out on this coming sunday.

That is what I do...between running a business and family "stuff" I do not have time for a band....but hey - I am in church every Sunday anyways and we practice Thursdays so that is only one additional day (unless we call an "impromptu practice" (for fun not really "practice"))....it really fits into my lifestyle....besides, I feel like I am doing somehting good for the Lord in doing it....getting HIS word out there an (hopefully) helping it sink into some people's hearts and soles....along with the GREAT sermons at our church!

That is an AWSOME song!!! I love playing it as well.....there is a part (the way we do it) where it is just drums and bass for a few bars....I end up doing some minor finger work, but the other bassist (we switch off) does some great slapping...wish I could do that - it sounds sooooo good!

I am looking forward to using my new Lakland DJ5 next month when I am back on the rotation at church. The B string really is beneficial for worship music.
We have 3 adults bands and only 5 bassists so I get to play 3 or 4 times a month. I play a Yamaha TRB-6 direct to the board and use in-ears for monitor. We have 2 awesome sound systems with pro-level gear and a very good tech crew. Working on building a pedal board, right now I have a chorus, a compressor, and a sonic stomp pedal. Just ordered an envelop volume pedal for that faux-cello sound on slower songs.

I played twice but it was on my Ibanez 5 string. I want to play again sometime but on my Stingray I just think it might be a little too flashy for church 
It's not the instrument, it's the attitude. If you are more readily able to praise God on your stingray for whatever reason, then praise on it. There's nothing too flashy for church, unless you make a show of it. Whenever I play with an attractive instrument (most of the time) I stand mostly behind one of the guitarists. I pull out my bass as if it's any old instrument and I'm just there to praise Him.
