Worst band you've ever seen?

Here's 2 of the worst bands that I never even saw because they were no-shows... Hatebreed and the Queers.

the Queers not showing up is more of a punk rock move though so my friends and I all laughed about it. Hatebreed did it twice though and they suck, plus just a bunch of premadonnas.

I saw a Poison reunion show and they played with Cinderella and Dokken. Well Poison and Dokken completely blew and amazingly, Cinderella was superb from start to finish.

I saw Deftones at the ozzfest one year... it sounded like an elephant was dying. Horrible.

Agnostic Front was crap. I was pretty pumped to see that one and me and my friend just left and went to a diner.

A local band I saw (who is now a National Act) who really sucked was Halestorm. This was back in 99 or 2000 when they were young. It was a free outdoor show and it was the pits. After hearing radio people talk about how great they are and the singer was beloved, I couldn't beleive what I was hearing. While standing around I heard other people chatting about how bad they were but will probably make it big because their parents are loaded and that's how they got on the radio locally. Don't know if that's true or not and apparently they got better so kudos to them.

The one band I never got to see... that I know would be the worst is D.R.I. They have the worst music imaginable so one would have to assume that they just totally suck live. They're so bad that its comical and the only reason I like them, lol

I think it was OMD on a small tour circa 2011. OMD wasn't bad but their opener was awful. They were an English trip if I remember correctly, with a female vocalist/keyboard player. She had this way of dancing around while stuck to her keyboard that made it look like her hands were nailed to the keys. She kept looking back at the guitarist with this huge smile like she was killing it.

2007 Tool played at Roberts Stadium on tour with a Japanese noise band named Melt Banana. Tool was amazing live! Oh good lord, when Danney Carey did the 46 & 2 drum solo, it was absolute magic. Melt Banana on the other hand, they were wretched! Nothing but loud and fast noise for 55 minutes. The singer had some kind of sampling thing and would auspiciously push a buttom every now and then and it would deafening crap lousy sounds. Close to halfway through set, the audience was booing them. I would put my face in a deep fryer than ever go to another Melt Banana show,... b@!#s too.

eddie was so drunk that we left at the halfway point.
from the moment the first chord was played, we knew something wasn't right. we thought the roadie must be testing the guitar sound...nope-it was ed and his playing was unrecognizable
it was pathetic beyond words and the crowd wasn't buying it either.

I saw Tub Ring with Clutch one time when they came through. Tub Ring was awful. It seemed like the keyboard player was playing the keyboard with his cod piece every other song. Horrible display, music wasn't much better. The Bakerton Group played next, (which is Clutch sans vocals) and finally Clutch came out and killed it. Can't wait to see them again. :)

I've walked out of venues with bad bands before and for different reasons. One band was so loud my ears hurt and I was wearing earplugs. Bad singers are probably the #1 reason for me to walk out on a band; it doesn't matter how good the band is if the singer sounds like arse. I went to see a popular band playing at a festival and they were sharing the marquee with a puppet show, when they came out they were announcing the rebirth or some nonsense of the band and started playing some strange freestyle crap. It was sad.

The worst famous band I ever saw was KISS about 3 years ago. I was a big fan of theirs and had seen them many times but on that tour, they were terrible. The opening bands, "Switchblade Suicide" and "The Envy" were also pretty bad.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones were aweful the only time I saw them. They were playing TD Garden in Boston between periods of a Bruins game. They were so bad that my brother and I walked out into the concourse until the next period started.

Non-Famous bands: this is the worst I've ever heard even though I didn't see them live.

Worst band I ever saw was Carillo. He played a Les Paul through a Marshall stack so loud I had to cover my ears. This was one of many shows I saw back in the '70's, so I don't remember who he was opening for. I think it was ELP, but at any rate the rest of the night I was deaf and had a headache, so the headliner may have played the best show ever and it would've been wasted.

One final comment on this topic. Live music is declining and has been for many years. The disco era and the rise of DJs may have played a part in that. Did you ever wonder how much of it is due to inferior bands who ruin the prospect of a night out for music fans? Nobody wants to be disappointed by throwing away their money on garbage. By lowering the overall standard of what is/is not acceptable performance, these "acts" have spoiled our art.

Man, I'm surprised at some of the bands coming up as the worst! I've seen Aerosmith kill, I've seen the Deftones kill, and Primus, The Cult, and so on.

Worst pro act I've seen was probably Bouncing Souls - they played a show with the Bosstones and Dance Hall Crashers at U of MD College Park. The Souls played an AMAZING rendition of Don't You (Forget About Me), but sadly the rest of their set was just crap.

Worst local performance I'd say was a band called Dead Letter Office, who played on a bill with my band at the time (and several other bands) in about '95 at the Black Cat in DC. I just can't tell if the awfulness was in the writing or in the playing - they may have been absolutely nailing what they were going for, but it was just not happening musically.

This thread is fun.. I guess its just weird how bands can completely suck on a given day. .. I saw the bouncing souls in 98 or 99 and it was outstanding
