Would you buy a bass from Amazon.com?

I bought this Lightwave SL-5 from Amazon. They’d lower the price on something, keep lowering it, and when someone would buy one, the price would jump back up. I paid ~$550, a few minutes later they were back up over $1,000 (now just under $1,200).

Action was kinda high, easy fix, and all is well.

Bought a NS 5 string electric stand up. Went perfect. Unpacked bass while at ups store set it up and played it right there. It was actually almost in tune out of the packng! I have prime shipping also so that part is even easier I guess for me. I hate buying via online. I just think of all my hand motion going to waste on a PC keyboard when I could be productive and work on material!lol

I bought a new Spector bass thru Amazon about a year ago. They were the only seller I could find anywhere that carried a hollow body Spectorcore in something other than Amber burst.

As others have noted on this thread - the price was good and the shipping was fast.

Also as noted on this thread - you better know what you're purchasing because they sure dont. I ended up returning the bass the same day I received it. One would think a little detail like being FRETLESS would be worth mentioning on the web page. They advertised it as a 24 fret neck instead of advertising it as a lined fretless neck. Good news is the return was hassle free.

I have to touch and hold & play a guitar or bass before buying it--maybe that's my quirk, but that means I wouldn't buy one online.

Doesn't mean someone else can't do it though.

I don't generally say this about a lot of large companies, but Amazon has it's **** together. They have good customer service, they're quick, and they can handle claims quickly.

It's no wonder they're so successful. They have the right business model. I wouldn't have a problem buying a bass from them.
