Would you go to a Pink...

Some friends went to see her a while back in Dallas. I'm nowhere near a big enough fan to drop $100 to see her much less drive almost 4hrs and pay for a hotel and another $100 for my wife who isnt a big fan either.

I don't find her music to be enjoyable or interesting in the slightest, so no. Though if you gave me a choice between attending a Pink concert and sticking around after a bar gig to watch the local metal bands drunkenly squeal their guitars and dry heave into their microphones I would much prefer the pop concert.

Why do so many of your posts bash others?

There are scads of artists I don't like, or don't get. I never post about them. Talent and appeal are subjective. For every ONE person who thinks I have talent, there are TEN who would pass me by. My job is to find the ONE, and more like them.

I just don't get reporting to others how unappealing you find an artist. Karma, man.

Pink looks like a man? That's absurd. She cuts her hair short. That makes her look like a man?

I wear my hair long. LIKE A WOMAN. Does that mean I look like a woman?

Ridiculous.

Pink does not look like a man, I agree there. Lady Gaga however......

I'm only questioning the emphasis on criticizing someone.

So you won't go! Don't go!

Tell me you won't go!

But when you say Pink "looks like a man," and complain that she "has no talent," I am going to question both statements, because they are ridiculous.

And I just happened to notice a particular poster seems to ALWAYS have major criticisms of various performers/artists.

I do not like the turn rock and roll took in the eighties. I feel much of it is silly, and demeans rock and roll in general. That said, I don't go out of my way to tell you my opinion of specific bands I don't like. And thus, when someone modern resonates with me, that is a sign they have some degree of authenticity.

Do I like all of Pink's songs? No. Not my cup of tea. Do I think she is talented?

VERY.

I liked a lot of the grunge stuff. I like the Dixie Chicks. I detest rap, heavy metal, and a few other modern genres.

And you rarely see me post about any of them.

I don't come to talkbass to complain.

I'd definitely see her live even if it was just her and her guitarist with an acoustic sitting on stools. I like the writing and she's a very talented singer. Her killer band and over the top performances are just icing on a great cake. The woman is legit from head to toe in my book.

+1 big time. Pink may not be your cup of tea so to speak, but to many (including myself) she is hot. You don't like her? Fine. You think she looks like a man? Now I think you're an idiot.

I'd go if it was free. Why not? Can't comment on her music as I've never heard any of it, that I know of at least. But a free show, I'm down.

Her looks are irrelevant to me, hot or not. Guess I'm off to youtube to search out some of her music. Some of you got me interested now.
