If her music sounds exactly like the aforementioned bubblegum pop, what's the difference? :hmm:

Either way, a large percentage of both ladies' output lately has been written/produced/whatever, by Max Martin and Dr. Luke, as has that of Kesha (I refuse to acknowledge that stupid dollar sign), Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber, Maroon 5, etc. Between the two of them, they have co-dominated pop music since the early aughts. Make of that what you will.

My GF is a fan of her hits. She's got that one song with the rock riff and "I'm gonna start a fight!" lyrics. Which ring very hollow to me. Then there's the one about "you're an a******, but I love you, so much it must be true love".

Musically, there is NOTHING going on here. Lyrically, there's a bunch of EMPTY POSTURING going on here. This is pre-packaged, corporate rebellion designed to sell records to teenage girls. I don't buy it at all.

If kat's take the time to listen to her lyrics they really are some of the better written lyrics today in pop, very logical and well executed.


Name me one pop artists that does not have a plan or formula to help reach as many listeners as possible.

I don't many would be so negative if they were getting royalty checks from some of these pop artists that they seem to dislike so much.

And with Pinks material she has a lot of say so and she co writes almost all of it.


But in all logic, to each their own.

I would go see her show, definitely. Because it's a HUGE show. It's production, hard work, and musicality are all tailored to bring something visual, audible and emotional out to the crowd. I don't really care much about the high-flying theatrics, although they are pretty cool. They aren't the reason I would go. She writes great songs, works out incredibly hard to be able to sing them live while dancing and bouncing around. Plus, the band I'm in plays several of the songs, and while they may be in the vein of four-chord pop, they are actually very hooky and good stuff.

U+Ur Hand, So What, Try, Sober, Raise Your Glass, Get The Party Started, Funhouse (with Tony Kanal on bass), Blow Me, Who Knew?, we've done a lot of Pink covers. Great songs, and if you know the backstory, they resonate with a lot of personal meaning, which is why so many fans wholeheartedly love her.

Yes...it does describe her...a lot of her songs she'll stray into the upper reaches repetitively and annoyingly.

The wife/girlfriend nag thing was an example for comparison and is not a regular occurrence for me.

If you like her....fine.....what one likes is strictly personal choice.......enjoy.
